THE ART

To begin, the art is SCI-FI Marvel art. The artist on the series is John Byrne. With writer Chris Claremont, “Magneto Triumphant” is a prelude to the Dark Phoenix Saga. In the most important story before the event, the artist’s pencils with toned physiques and ensemble perspective in full coloring make the comic a true present.

Certainly, Mary Titus’ coloring matches the sci-fi and EPIC tone of the story arc despite no real contrast with skin tone, though the colorful costumes add dinstinctiveness. In addition, Terry Austin’s inking is a highlight of this issue. And the ensemble pencils of the X-Men show them not fitting in a small space and on the ropes. Notably, their proportionate musculature and curved physiques have added fatality. Nevertheless, the comic excels at drama and the panel on the left shows the artist’s mastery!

THE FIGHT

In a sci-fi battle between two Conquerors, Magneto fights Phoenix in a deadly battle.

The battle to decide who is the Cosmic Being!

WINNER: MAGNETO WINS AGAINST PHOENIX
