ON EARTH, IT IS A VILTRUMITE’S MISSION TO MATE WITH A HUMAN

In our Invincible article, we related Mark Grayson’s origin story. A half-human, half-Viltriumite hybrid, Mark is a teen superhero. When he gains super powers, he embarks on superhero missions with his father, Omni-Man. However, Mark learns that in fact, his father is not a superhero. Instead, he is a conqueror for the World Conqueror Committee.

In a titanic clash, Nolan Grayson leaves Invincible near death and departs from Earth. At the same time, Mark may have inherited his father’s biological mission: to mate with a human. In fact, Mark seems to prefer his girlfriend Cecil to a Viltrumite like Anissa, who is more war-like. Some time later, it is revealed that Viltrumites must breed with humans.

ANISSA’S ABUSE REVEALS IT MAY BE MARK’S MISSION TO CONQUER EARTH

In Invincible (2014) #110, we learn about one of the most controversial act in comics. After the Viltrumite War, Invincible destroyed the planet Viltrum. Now, the Viltrumites were refugees on Earth. Since, the female Viltrumite Anissa took an interest in Mark Grayson. In fact, she seemed to like him. However, after repeated mandates from former Emperor Thragg, she realized she needed to fulfill her biological mission to procreate with a human.

In fact, Anissa had no interest in procreating with a human. With Mark being half-human, half-Viltrumite she opted for him. Meeting him in the United States, she fought and being stronger, forced herself upon him. Despite Mark’s resistance, she warned him she would repeat the act in the future. Though Mark does not realize, Anissa’s rape may indicate it is his biological mission to conquer Earth.

ANNOUNCEMENT: RAPE IS WRONG AND CRIMINAL

Though comics are some of the most progressive media and forms of art, we question some of their moral positions. In fact, it is our position that rape no matter the circumstance is always wrong and criminal. Moreover, we object to comics portraying such violence towards the opposite sexes so cavalierly.

Also, we encourage victims of rape and domestic abuse to break their silence. Every person deserves to be loved, accepted and welcome. Finally, this right extends to underrepresented minorities and races, even the LGBTQ+. We believe it is everyone’s right to live a healthy and fulfilling life.

WHO ARE THE SINISTER SIX?

Originally, the Sinister Six were banded together by Doctor Octopus. After suffering three defeats in a row from Spider-Man, Dr. Octavius understood the need to band with other criminals. Thus, he contacted all known Spider-Man rogues. With the knowledge their group would be only for a short duration.

Only five responded. Together, Dr. Octopus, Electro, Vulture, Mysterio, Kraven the Hunter and Sandman would become the Sinister Six. Also, the group has been known as the Savage Six, the Sinister Seven and the Sinister Twelve. Let’s list 10 horrible things the villain team has done in comics and television to ruin Spider-Man’s life.

The Sinister Six.

COMICS: KIDNAP AUNT MAY AND BETTY BRANT

First, when they formed Doctor Octopus planned to use people important to Spider-Man as bait. Though unaware, they kidnapped Aunt May who was a bystander. In addition, they realized Betty Brant was important. So they kidnapped her. Second, the Sinister Six set up a gauntlet.

Indeed, Spider-Man had to fight each member individually in order to save the loved ones. But this was a bad time since Spider-Man had lost his powers at the time. In fact, it turned out to be a psychological block over Uncle Ben’s death. Which he overcame in life or death situations.

TV: THE SIX BEAT UP SPIDER-MAN SO BAD THAT THE BLACK SYMBIOTE SUIT TOOK OVER HIM AT NIGHT

In Spectacular Spider-Man, the Sinister Six form for the first time in Season 1: Episode 11. After Electro breaks them out of prison, the Six attack Spider-Man’s family. No match against Doc Ock, Vulture, Shocker, Electro, Sandman and Rhino, Spider-Man retreats.

At night, Spider-Man actually wishes that his enemies end up behind bars. Previously, Spider-Man has been using the black costume. At night, the black symbiote takes over him and goes to fight the Sinister Six. The next day, Peter finds out Spider-Man captured them but cannot remember.

COMICS: DOC OCK AND THE SIX TRIED TO CONQUER THE WORLD THROUGH COCAINE ADDICTION

After the Sinister Six were freed from prison, Doc Ock brought them together. Again, he sought revenge against Spider-Man. Apparently, Kraven committed suicide so Hobgoblin took his place.

However, Doc Ock’s real plan was to conquer the world by dealing cocaine. Fortunately, Sandman had reformed. With his help, Spider-Man defeated the Sinister Six.

TV: THE SIX ATTACK AT CHRISTMAS AND KRAVEN BETRAYS MYSTERIO

To prove that the Sinister Six really were out to get their foe, they attacked when he least expected them. At Christmas, Mysterio, Kraven, Sandman, Vulture, Doc Ock and Electro attack Spider-Man. When the battle turns into Spider-Man’s favor, Kraven betrays Mysterio.

In fact, he tells Spider-Man it is a robot duplicate. Soon, Spider-Man defeats the rogues. In the end, Spider-Man saves the nearby Santa Claus and Elf. Though the identity of “Master Planner”, who is Doc Ock, remains a mystery to him.

In their newest scheme, Doc Ock and his criminals planned to steal alien weaponry. When his family was threatened, the reformed Sandman recruited Spider-Man’s help.

However, the Sinister Six went on a killing spree, murdering wantonly. And Spider-Man was injured with fractures of arm and leg. In addition, it took members of the superhero community in order to finally take them down.

TV: THE INSIDIOUS SIX ATTACKED WHEN SPIDER-MAN WAS SUFFERING FROM A MUTATION DISEASE THAT CAUSED POWER LOSS

Similarly to Earth-616, Spider-Man: The Animated Series created the Insidious Six. Here, they were assembled by the Kingpin in order to destroy Spider-Man. Similarly, Spider-Man was suffering from a mutation disease that caused his power loss.

When they battled Spider-Man, they quickly overpowered him. In addition, they unmasked him. Not impressed by his performance, they concluded Peter Parker could not be Spider-Man. Later, Spider-Man would defeat them after regaining his powers.

Contacting Spider-Man’s rogues, he put together the Sinister Twelve. Together, Scorpion led Vulture, Sandman, Electro, Chameleon, Lizard, Hydroman, Shocker, Hammerhead, Boomerang, Tombstone.

When Scorpion captured and threatened Aunt May, Spider-Man and Black Cat were blackmailed in breaking Green Goblin out of prison. Though the two made a heroic stand, they were no match for the Sinister Twelve. With the help of Captain America, Iron Man, Daredevil, Hank Pym and the FF they defeated the supervillain team.

5 MYTHS ABOUT BEN REILLY IN THE ‘CLONE SAGA’

5. SPIDER-MAN KILLED BEN REILLY

In Amazing Spider-Man (1975) #149, Spider-Man learns about the existence of his clone. During the issue, the Jackal reveals his identity as Peter Parker’s biology professor. Namely, Miles Warren was secretly in love with Gwen Stacy. When Gwen died, he blamed Spider-Man and plotted revenge. After an unethical experiment, Warren realized Serba wanted to clone a human Gwen

In madness, he killed Serba and became the Jackal. Later, he clones Gwen as well as Peter Parker. In the issue, Spider-Man and his clone fight for the last one standing. However, Warren seemingly kills the Spider-Man clone when he fails to stop his bomb. Fortunately, Spider-Man escapes. In the end, Spider-Man buries the body in an industrial chimney. In reality, Ben Reilly was alive and survived thanks to a chemical the Jackal previously injected in him.

4. BEN REILLY IS A CRIMINAL

Later, after Ben Reilly assumes a costumed identity, he becomes the Jackal. Previously, Ben Reilly found illegal employment. Thanks to a scientist he met a scientist named Seward Trainer, he obtained fake paperwork. However, his illegal work was inconsistent.

After a month of work, his employers usually found out about his fake work history, and Ben had to move. In addition, Ben even worked in Italy as an English teacher. However, he had to leave after the local Mafia found out about his fake credentials. Though he was illegal, Ben was not a criminal supervillain.

3. BEN REILLY IS THE TRUE PETER PARKER

In Web of Spider-Man (1994) #117, Ben Reilly returned to New York. After an initial mistrust, both Peter Parker and his clone got along. However, Peter was stunned when Seward Trainer revealed Ben Reilly was the true Peter Parker and Peter Parker was the clone. Fortunately, each hero agreed to keep their civilian identities. When Mary Jane became pregnant, Peter moved with her out of New York.

For a while, Ben Reilly would have adventures and lead a normal life. Finally, Trainer was revealed to be an agent of Norman Osborn who survived apparent death after The Night Gwen Stacy Died. In fact, he was the mastermind behind the clone saga. In the end, Ben disintegrated after Green Goblin’s glider pierced him, proving he was the clone.

Later, Spider-Man wold have adventures with the Human Torch and the X-Men. In addition, he would fight Mysterio and help defeat Green Goblin in his last battle before his death. However, he would return.

1. SPIDER-MAN IS STRONGER THAN BEN REILLY

In many respects, Ben Reilley proved a capable Spider-Man.

During DC Versus Marvel, he proved capable of defeating the stronger Superboy.
