PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Collects Immortal Hulk #1-5 and material from Avengers (2016) #684 by Jim Zub and Mark Waid.

Horror has a name. You’d never notice the man. He doesn’t like to be noticed. He’s quiet. Calm. If someone were to shoot him in the head…all he’d do is die. Until night falls — and someone else gets up again. The man’s name is Banner. The horror is the Immortal Hulk! And trouble has a way of following them both. As reporter Jackie McGee tries to put together the pieces, Banner treads a lonely path from town to town, finding murder, mystery and tragedy as he goes. And what Banner finds, the Hulk smashes! Elsewhere, the hero called Sasquatch can’t help but feel involved. In many ways, he’s Banner’s equal — and his opposite. Sasquatch is about to risk his life by looking for the man — and finding the monster!

Critically, Immortal Hulk Vol. 1: Or Is He Both? (Immortal Hulk (2018-2021)) is the best Hulk story arc in recent memory. In fact, it tells of Hulk’s resurrection after Bruce Banner’s brutal death and his new-found immortality.

Together, writer Al Ewing and Joe Bennett collaborate on the comic. Really, the writing shines on the horror of Immortal Hulk. Indeed, the art in the book is characteristic of the Fresh Start: detailed, perspective and depth, and with hues.

Indeed, share this Kindle & Comixology comic to fans of Hulk and on the occasion of Comic-Cons. Definitely, it is worth its price and will leave you wanting for more Hulk! And Sasquatch!

CUSTOMER REVIEWS AND SCORES

To begin, Immortal Hulk Vol. 1: Or Is He Both? (Immortal Hulk (2018-2021)) is Immortal Hulk’s great debut in the Fresh Start. When Hulk is shot by a gunman at a gas station, he rises from the dead in the morgue. In a macabre twist, he hunts down the killer and his gang.

Really, the comic showcases the horror genre with skill. Perhaps, the truest incarnation of the hero with respect with his first appearance in Incredible Hulk (1962-1999) #1. In fact, a story arc that adapts classic Hulk mythos such as Jackie McGee and the gamma-irradiated humans.

The comic is good for your Hulk collection. You will definitely love the pencils, the level of detail and the multiple deaths.

This product has 847 global ratings with an average customer review rating of 4.7 out of 5.

POSITIVE REVIEW

The customer review said: “Simply amazing! Or is that incredible? The writer really gets the classic horror feel to the early Hulk stories and does a great job. This is one of the best Hulk comic collections I’ve read in years & years. It’s dark, moody, and suspenseful all at the same time! Plus, he even digs deep in to old school Hulk continuity without making things difficult to new readers. Love the inclusion of some of the shout outs to old Hulk minutiae like Del Fry & Jackie McGee (homages to the old TV show), Trime & Buscema, and the gamma irradiated characters from early on in PAD’s classic run. I really cannot wait for the next volume.”

NEGATIVE REVIEW

There are 30 negative global ratings. One negative review pointed the poor comic condition: “Received the book today and it was practically bent in half and ripped on the binding. Most of the pages do not want to open because of the bend and rip. I know it’s just a trade but I don’t even want to read it like this.”

Overall, this comic was great.

CONCLUSION

POSITIVE:

  • Kindle & Comixology formats available.
  • Paperback format available.
  • Free with a Comixology Unlimited subscription.
  • Classic Hulk horror story.

NEGATIVE:

  • Poor comic condition.

OUR PRODUCT REVIEW RATING:

I recommend this comic as a horror adaptation of the Silver Age Hulk for new readers.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS AND SCORES

To begin, Justice League Odyssey (2018-) #12 is the full resurrection of Darkseid in DC Rebirth continuity. With the members of the Justice League Odyssey possessed, only Jessica Cruz can oppose Darkseid’s reign at Sepulkore.

Really, the comic showcases the heroism of Jessica Cruz and her evolution in DC Rebirth into a true hero. In addition, True Form Darkseid is masterful and imposing. Finally, the comic continues the story elements of DC Rebirth such as the imperfections in the DC multiverse.

The comic is good for your DC Rebirth collection. You will definitely love Conrad’s illustrations, Abnett’s elegant writing, and the character designs.

This product has 1 global rating with an average customer review rating of 4 out of 5.

POSITIVE REVIEW

The customer review said: “I haven’t been a huge fan of the way DC has been using Darkseid the last half decade or so. For God knows what reason, they have altered his iconic appearance to make him much more generic looking. He’s also considerably more active and hands on which diminishes his intimidation factor. I was delighted to see that at about the midway point in the comic Darkseid transforms back into his classic look. I haven’t really followed Darkseid’s evolution since he died and came back but great credit to Dan Abnett for bringing him back to where he started.”

NEGATIVE REVIEW

And it certainly was beyond my expectations because it was all over the place. The actual Thanos Wins story was good…but not great for me and I certainly wasn’t interested in Cosmic Ghost Rider but this guy is awesome! POSITIVE REVIEW

The customer review said: “Great read. It came in great quality and I read it all in one sitting. Obviously there is parts that come after it that you can order as well. I read this yo prepare a bit for “Batman V Superman” along with “The Dark Knight Returns”. They are both classics.”

NEGATIVE REVIEW

There are 23 negative global ratings. One negative customer review pointed the one-dimensional plot: “The Death of Superman is the victim of the decade it came out in. The 90s were full of big ‘event’ storylines that dared to change the status-quo but then just back tracked once they got their money. That’s the problem with this book. It wears it’s title with pride but there’s nothing more to it.

The premise of the book is this: evil creature dubbed Doomsday goes on a rampage, defeating Justice Leaguers (more like B-Leaguers) so it falls to Superman to take on this unstoppable behemoth. You’re probably thinking that’s only the first part, right? Nope, that’s the whole story and it drags it out so slowly… I have no problem with Doomsday, somehow knowing less is better in this case but it is a shame we only find out his origins in later comics.”

Overall, this comic was great.
