ORIGIN STORY
Victor Von Doom was born to Romani gypsies outside Haasenstadt, Latveria. Unfortunately, his mother was killed in a deal gone wrong with Mephisto. Then, his father fled with him on a cold winter night. Though Victor survived, his father did not.1 In order to rescue his mother, Doom sought to increase his knowledge of science and magic. In addition, he fell in love with a woman named Valeria who resisted him.2
BECOMING DOCTOR DOOM
In his young adult years, State University offered Doom a scholarship. There, he would meet Reed Richards and Ben Grimm.3 Soon, Doom and Reed would develop a rivalry and dislike each other.
Sinisterly, Doom became obsessed with developing a machine that could project the astral form of a being into another dimension. To this end, he planned to free his mother’s spirit from Mephisto’s realm. When Reed pointed out a flaw in Doom’s calculations, Victor ignored him. Tragically, the machine exploded scarring Victor’s face. Then, Victor was expulsed for his unethical experiments.3
Later, Doom would blame Reed. Afterwards, Doom traveled the world. Eventually, he found a Tibetan monastery. There, they helped him fashion a suit of armor. Soon, Doctor Doom would return to Latveria. There, he overthrew the ruler and started his quest for world domination. Afterwards, Doctor Doom would become an enemy of the Fantastic Four.3
