In Dazzler (1982) #19, titled “Creel… and Inhuman Treatment!”, Black Bolt performs a super strength feat. After Absorbing Man has absorbed Dazzler’s light powers, he is out of control and she seeks help. When Black Bolt and Lockjaw arrive, a battle follows. During the fight, Black Bolt stuns the 10-foot Absorbing Man with a powerful punch.

Black Bolt punched Absorbing Man made of solid light. We will calculate the energy of hypothetical solid light to estimate the impact force of Black Bolt’s punch.
NUMBER CRUNCHING
In a research experiment, scientists hypothetically created a low form of solid light. In the experiment, they created photon triplets traveling at 3000 meters per second with a fraction of an electron’s mass. We will use these hypothetical results to calculate the energy of Creel’s solid light body.
Creel’s 10-foot mass = dV2 = (122.47 kg/6.096 m3)(48.768 m3) = 979.76 kg.
Then, we calculate the kinetic energy of solid light. Since they are hypothesized to travel less than light speed, we use the classical kinetic energy equation.
KE = 1/2mv2 = 1/2 (979.76 kg)(3000 m/s)2 = 4408920000 J.
SUPER STRENGTH
Black Bolt generated 4408920000 J of kinetic energy in order to punch the 10-foot Absorbing Man. In order to generate the punch, Black Bolt had to generate a City Block-Level of Super-Strength.
