In 1836, the New York State Museum was founded as the oldest museum in America.

Importantly, its mission is to educate Americans on the human and natural history of the state. It hosts a variety of educational programs for its visitors.

• On September 30 2025, the Equal Protection: The Supreme Court’s Battle with Affirmative Action Special Screening raises awareness about the Supreme Court’s battle against affirmative action for Black Americans in higher education.

• From 12:00 pm, cinephiles can have free attendance to the Special Screening at the New York State Museum in the Huxley Theater.
