SYNOPSIS FOR “TOO MANY MUTANTS!”

Following the X-Tinction Agenda the X-Men, New Mutants and X-Factor have gathered at Xavier’s School For Gifted Youngsters. While the X-Men and Cable contemplate bringing the teams together under one leader, Gambit officially tries out for the X-Men.

In the Danger Room, Wolverine spars with Gambit.

ORIGIN STORY

Cable is Scott Summers and Jean Grey’s mutant son. Geneticist Mr. Sinister conceived of Cable by the realization that the child of Scott Summers and Jean Grey would be a powerful mutant. His goal was to create a powerful mutant he could control in order to defeat the immortal mutant.

Cable was born from the union between Scott Summers and Madelyne Pryor. Madelyne Pryor was a clone of Jean Grey. She was given life from a spark of the Phoenix Force that granted her a life force and Jean Grey’s memories as Jean Grey laid in a cocoon in Jamaica Bay recovering from radiation poison.

Mr. Sinister fabricated Madelyne’s past and arranged for Scott Summers to meet her. Scott immediately fell in love with her and the two had a child. They named him Nathan Christopher Charles Summers.

POWERS

Cable has been classified as an Alpha-Level Telepath and an Alpha-Level and Omega-Level Telekinetic.

Nathan was infected by a Techno-Organic virus as an infant which he had to consciously keep in check from consuming his body.

  • Telepathy: The ability to read minds and project thoughts.
  • Telekinesis: The ability to manipulate with the mind.
  • Time Travel: The ability to use psionic energy to move between different points in the time-stream.
  • Techno-Organic Physiology: The Techno-Organic Virus has altered Cable’s physiology with cybernetic enhancements. He is a cyborg. The infection mainly resides on Cable’s left side.
  • Superhuman Strength: Cable’s strength has been augmented to an unknown level.
  • Superhuman Endurance: Cable can maintain maximal levels of endurance for hours before fatigue sets in. He also has little need for sleep.
  • Superhuman Speed: Cable is fast enought to evade bullets after they have been fired.
  • Cybernetic Arm: Cable’s left arm is completely cybernetic and allows to lift tons.
  • Cybernetic Eye: Cable is able to see the EM spectrum as well as psionic energies.
  • Cybernetic Restoration: Cable is able to repair damage to his cybernetic body down the atomic scale. Cable is also able to re-design his cybernetic arm to interface with computers.
