DC DAY SERIES
IN NEW 52
GOLD
Gold is the self-proclaimed leader of the Metal Men. He is the one that proclaims the team as the Metal Men per Dr. Magnus’ programming and the one who follows his programming the closest. He is also the smartest and displays the properties of gold in his personality which is to be bright and valuable. He showcases the most knowledge about science. Gold is attractive in appearance and is the most well functioning.
TIN
Tin comes online second. Tin’s personality is bashful and lacking in confidence. Tin is also the smallest in stature and the one that has the least attractive appearance. Tin has problems with his “vocal programming.”1 He claims to not know what his super powers are.
LEAD
Lead comes online third. Lead is the most physically imposing of the Metal Men. He states his mind is slow and he speaks in few short words. Lead’s slow adaptation can be attributed to the metal being among the heaviest metals. Lead states to not be able to alter his shape due to his slowness. His slow-wittedness makes him love a soda machine. Still, Lead exhibits feelings of love and is the first one to make a shape (due to the metal’s malleability) to protect Dr. Magnus and the Metal Men from Secretary Of Defense Joseph Devol’s explosion of Dr. Magnus lab entrance.
IRON
Iron is the fourth to come online. His first few words reveal he is all about action and combat. Iron wants to fight and to protect people. Iron picks on Lead and seems to have camaraderie with him. Iron flexes his muscles and asks to watch a WCW match revealing that he can tap into broadcast networks.
PLATINUM
Platinum is the fifth to come online. She is the only female member of the group. She clashes with Gold over assuming leadership of the Metal Men. Platinum seems to experience feelings and Dr. Magnus seems to like her. Platinum appears to be the most human of the Metal Men and the one that knows Dr. Magnus as a person. Platinum is attractive in appearance.
MERCURY
Mercury is the last to come online. Mercury has the meanest personality of all the Metal Men. At first, Mercury thinks Dr. Magnus has a responsometer and notices that he speaks slowly. When Dr. Magnus tells him he is their inventor, later Mercury is the first one to identify Dr. Magnus as a human. Mercury wants a robot revolution and does not want to follow orders from Dr. Magnus.
