SOLOMON GRUNDY IN COMICS
‘All-American Comics’ (1944) #61, titled “Fighters Never Quit” marks the first appearance of Solomon Grundy in DC continuity. The issue tells the origin story of Solomon Grundy and his relation to Green Lantern Alan Scott. The issue starts with Solomon Grundy emerging from Slaughter Swamp and killing two escaped convicts. Then, he begins his career in crime.
The comic was written by Alfred Bester and penciled by Paul Reinman.
