WESTERN

To begin, the art is western art. The artist on the series was JosĂ© Ortiz. In 2012, the artist rose to prominence for his work with Warren Publishing in Apocalypse. Later, he landed the Hombre series with Antonio Segura in 1981.  Importantly, his work on the high-profile Tex: Mescaleros introduced him to Italian comics. In his masterpiece, the artist’s pencils have the horror atmosphere with the realism of the late spaghetti western.

Certainly, JosĂ© Ortiz is a horror artist. His combination of light and darkness add to the realism of the characters. Though Ortiz‘s pencils create an epic and almost fantastic feel, his characters have distinctiveness and show the atmosphere of western. Importantly, the comic excels at action and the cover on the left shows the artist’s masterpiece!
