In our article, we list our Top 5 Crime-Fighters in Hollywood. In 2004, I, Robot released worldwide to mixed reviews. With a strong box office success, the movie has influenced the sci-fi genre.

Today, you can also find the All-Time Worldwide Box Office. And with the resurgence of American colonialism in Venezuela and gang violence, crimefighting is relevant. Also, you can continue to watch the video above for the Superman and the Mole Men (1951) clip.

5. I, ROBOT (2004): THE BASEBALL BAT

Certainly, Will Smith is an iconic star in Hollywood. Importantly, his portrayal of superheroes, law enforcement and professionals in the workplace have won him acclaim and his controversial Oscar. With Poster of the Month contender I, Robot, the actor along with Shia LaBoeuf, star the story of a policeman investigating a crime by a robot in a dystopian Chicago in 2035. Indeed, the movie was remarkable for the use of self-defense by Will and Shia against the stronger robot with the classic metal bar and baseball bat respectively. His work remains an entertainment about the important achievements of black people in Hollywood.

Positives: Oscar winner, iconic black actor.

Negatives: None.

4. BATMAN (1989): GRAPPLER

As an actor, Michael Keaton is a well-known celebrity worldwide. In 2023, he resumed his role as Bruce Wayne in The Flash. For the most part, the Burton Batman remains the most popular version of the character. And in Batman (1989), the Caped Crusader fired his Grappling Hook Launcher to escape the Joker’s henchmen.

Positives: Celebrity status, Batmobile creative use of real-life crime-fighting tools, Popular franchise.

Negatives: None.

3. STAR TREK: DISCOVERY (2017-2024): MED KIT

Perhaps, no Star Trek show has had more popularity from fans in recent years. Certainly, partly chronicled, partly romance, Star Trek: Discovery a cultural shift for the franchise. With a star-studded cast, the show showed some controversial moments with officers using their med kits to recover from mass hallucinations. Really, a disaster of epic proportions.

Positives: Iconic status, Pop-Culture Phenomenon.

Negatives: More mainstream recognition is needed.

2. IRONHEART (2025): FIRST RESPONDERS

In 2025, the Marvel Cinematic Universe had failures. Certainly, Ironheart showed an alternative to Iron Man’s hero journey. With its original premise of Riri Williams developing an armor to help first responders, it showed promise. Though, the show suffered from low quality and controversy.

Positives: Controversial black superhero, Inspiring original crimefighting concept.

Negatives: Poor reception.

1. SUPERMAN AND THE MOLE MEN (1951): KNOTTED GUN

Gloriously, Superman and the Mole Men (1951) is the first live-action superhero movie in Hollywood. Though, strongly conservative, lacking diversity, it showed inclusion with Jimmy Olsen portrayed as a homosexual, ahead of its time. Importantly, it firmly sides for gun control as it shows Superman bending a rifle barrel reminiscent of the UN’s Knotted Gun statue to celebrate The International Day for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation Awareness.

Positives: Iconic Status, Inclusive with homosexuality themes, Midwestern values.

Negatives: Too Conservative, Not Diverse Enough.
