SYNOPSIS FOR “THE ARCHERS”

Void and Lord Emp must recruit a Kheriubim team of warriors to take on Helspont and his Daemonite army who covet an orb of destructive power.

After an accident at sea, Thorgal ends up ashore with Tjall. Now, in order to buy a new boat and weapons, he accepts to compete with the young man and Pied d’Arbre in an archery contest.

However, he must pair with Kriss of Valnor, a young bandit girl who is dangerous. When the young girl is captured, Thorgal and company fight bandits.

EPIC GRAPHIC NOVELS

To begin, the art is epic art. The artist on the series is Grzegorz Rosiński. In 2012, the artist rose to prominence for his first Thorgal bd in Tintin. After, he landed the Thorgal series with Van Hamme for LOMBARD.  Importantly, his work on the high-profile Thorgal: Les Archers work. In his masterpiece, the artist’s pencils have the fantasy atmosphere with the realism of the Franco-Belgian school.

Certainly, the painted hue of the bd adds to the fantasy and epic. In addition, the inking is a highlight in this issue. Though Rosiński‘s pencils create an epic and realistic feel, his characters have distinctiveness and show the atmosphere of magic. Importantly, the comic excels at action and the page on the left shows the artist’s masterpiece!

THE FIGHT

After Kriss of Valnor is captured and raped by bandits, Thorgal, Tjall and Sigwald must rescue her at night.

THORGAL IN COMICS

‘Tintin’ (1977) magazine under the title “Son of the Storms”, marks the first appearance of Thorgal in Belgian comics.

The issue was created by writer Jean Van Hamme and artist Grzegorz Rosiński.
