At the lowest spot, the Iron Claw (2023) deserves the list. Though the film did not receive a nomination, it was nevertheless a successful biopic adaptation of a struggling wrestling family. Importantly, with the end of the Superhero Boom, Hollywood may attempt to launch wrestling biopic or sports movie franchises. Really, it may be the most important role of Zac Efron’s acting career.

4. MAESTRO (2023)

Though Martin Scorsese’s Maestro (2023) was a critical success, the movie was a box office failure. Importantly, the movie is a biopic drama of the lives of American composer Leonard Bernstein and his wife Felicia Montealegre. Bradley Cooper is actor, director and plays the lead alongside Carey Mulligan.

3. SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE (2023)
Certainly, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023) was a strong contender for Best Animated Feature. Previously, it received the Producers Guild award for animated feature and numerous other awards. At the same time, it was among the top-performing films last year for the superhero genre and film. With the loss to The Boy and the Heron (2023), it’s a powerful snub to Disney.

2. BARBIE (2023)

Certainly, Barbie (2023) was the top contender for Best Picture and Best Actress at the 2024 Oscars. The facts that Margot Robbie and director Greta Gerwig both lost the Awards show the Awards’ unfair voting system which is 25 percent female. At the same time, the film earned the consolation Award for Best Song. Though, it is the only film on this list with an Award.

1. KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON (2023)
At the top of our list, is another Martin Scorsese production and direction. Perhaps, Lily Gladstone was a certain winner going into the competition for Best Actress after winning the SAG Awards. But, it was Emma Stone who won the Award for her performance in Poor Things (2023), stunning the predictions. And there was no mention of Leonardo Dicaprio as Best Actor.
