In The Marvels movie, Captain Marvel assembles a team of Marvels. American actress Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris and Iman Vellani star in the lead role in a box office failure. In the film, the team assembles to take on a powerful female villain. In an MCU appearance, the X-Man veteran Beast makes a cameo appearance in the movie.
This May 23rd, in Marvel history, we celebrate the first appearance of Lord Pilar against Beast and Zharkah in X-Factor (1989) #44.
LORD PILAR APPEARS AS BEAST AND ZHARKAH BOND
In our Book of the Month contender X-Factor (1989) #44, writer Louise Simonson and artist Paul Smith continue X-Factor’s crisis against The Celestials. In a team-up story set on Earth-616, Beast and Zharkah bond against The Chosen and the first appearance of Lord Pilar. Perhaps, one of the most sci-fi X-Factors stories with battles, betrayals and cosmic powers. According to Comichron, neither Diamond nor Capital published end-of-year sales reports in the 1980s until October 1984 and no monthly reports between February and May 1989.

X-FORCE MAKES ITS FIRST APPEARANCE
In the X-Force (2001) #114,
X-Force makes its first appearance. In the issue, X-Force attempt to rescue Boys R Us who are kidnapped to increase their image. Importantly, only Edie and Doop survive in the end. Moreover, the comic format is also new for the Michael Allred cover featuring the protagonists.
