Overpowered Beings: Emperor Vulcan Is Crowned #TheMostPowerfulMutant

In "X-Men: Rise And Fall Of The Shi'Ar Empire," Vulcan fights the Shi'Ar Imperial Guard.

OVERPOWERED BEINGS

Variant Comics

IN POWER LEVEL

VULCAN IS AN OMEGA-LEVEL MUTANT

Vulcan.
Vulcan. Marvel Comics.

In the Modern Age, Vulcan debuted. Simply, he is the brother of Scott and Alex Summers. Strangely, he is a product of both science and institutional slavery. Early, Corsair and pregnant Katherine Summers were abducted by D’Ken, ruler of the Shi’ar Empire. To save both mother and child, Corsair escaped. However, Katherine was killed though the child survived.

Forcibly, the child was removed from her body and grown in an Incubator-Accelerator. To this end, the device was used to breed new slaves to adolescence. Send to Earth to join the Emperor’s hand on Earth, the teenager escaped. There, he was found by Moira McTaggart. Soon, she would educate him on his powers.

Unfortunately, the teenager had no recollection of his past. In fact, he claimed to be Gabriel though he took the codename Kid Vulcan. After an encounter with Professor X, Gabriel learned he was Cyclops’ brother. Soon, he joined the X-Men. Along with Moira’s students; namely, Petra, Darwin and Sway they embarked on mission to rescue the original X-Men from Krakoa. Though the X-Men were rescued, there was a price. In fact, Gabriel and members of his team apparently died.

After the apparent deaths of the team, Cyclops returned to Professor Xavier in a hysterical state, blaming himself for their deaths. The Professor decided it was best for all involved if he altered Scott’s memories to forget about Vulcan and his team, to spare everyone the agony of their loss. A new team was assembled and successfully rescued the original X-Men from Krakoa.

Vulcan and Darwin were launched into space along with the Krakoa landmass by Polaris and remained inert until years later, when the massive backlash of power resulting from M-Day awakened Vulcan.

-Gabriel Summers, Marvel Database

WHY HE IS AN OMEGA-LEVEL MUTANT

In X-Men: Deadly Genesis (2005) #1, Vulcan returns to Earth. In an attempt to locate Professor X missing after House of M, Emma Frost uses Cerebra. Surprisingly, she locates an omega-level mutant and a NASA space-shuttle in re-entry on Earth. Definitely, since Cerebra has been used to identify mutant signatures, it is an indication of Vulcan’s overall power level.

OVERPOWERED, VULCAN HAS POWER OVER THE ENTIRE EM SPECTRUM

In 'Guardians Of The Galaxy' (2009) #14, Adam Warlock states Vulcan is an Omega Level mutant.
In Guardians Of The Galaxy (2009) #14, Adam Warlock states Vulcan is an Omega Level mutant. Marvel Comics.

Really, Vulcan is overpowered. As an Omega-Level mutant, Vulcan has vast energy projection powers. In fact, his powers extend over the electromagnetic spectrum. In their encounter, the mutant absorbed Adam Warlock‘s magical powers. Effectively, rendering him near powerless. Indeed, Adam Warlock was terrified and confirmed Vulcan is an Omega-Level mutant.

Among Vulcan’s powers are vast energy projection and manipulation, energy absorption, flight at subluminal speed, super strength, energy constructs and telekinesis, power suppression, energy detection and regeneration. In fact, Vulcan possesses these powers at least at a Stellar-Level. Later, we will see what happens when his powers are unleashed against alien races in conquest.

BECOMING #THEMOSTPOWERFULMUTANT, VULCAN CROWNED HIMSELF SHI’AR EMPEROR

Vulcan marries Deathbird.
Vulcan marries Deathbird. Then, crowns himself Shi’ar Emperor. Marvel Comics.

In X-Men: Deadly Genesis, Professor X states Vulcan is actually one of the most powerful mutants. On Earth, Vulcan meets the X-Men for the first time. In their last battle, the villain is able to take on the X-Men team. Including withstand an all-out Cyclops’ optic blasts and an uppercut from Colossus. In the end, Vulcan ends the fights with a wholesale electric blast that shocks the X-Men.

During Rise and Fall of The Shi’ar Empire, Gabriel proves he is #TheMostPowerfulMutant. Through planning, study, deceit and superior power, Vulcan becomes D’Ken’s second in command. Soon, he captures Professor X to avenge the telepath’s deception early on.

On the M’Kraan Crystal’s homeworld, Professor X is imprisoned. On the day of his wedding to Deathbird, Emperor D’Ken plans to execute the Professor. But not if the X-Men and the Starjammers can do anything about it. In a civil war, the Shi’ar Empire is divided between D’Ken and Lilandra factions. When the X-Men arrive, they side with Lilandra.

However, after dealing with Charles Xavier, Vulcan actually betrays Emperor D’Ken. In a powerful blast, he incinerates the Emperor’s face. Then, by right of blood, combat and succession, he crowns himself Shi’ar Emperor. Really, a powerful statement!

WHY VULCAN IS AN OVERPOWERED BEING

HIS TELEPATHY CAN AFFECT CURRENT IN THE BRAIN

In 'X-Men: Deadly Genesis' (2005) #1, Vulcan has stopped Rachel Summers' telepathy.
In X-Men: Deadly Genesis (2005) #2, Vulcan has stopped Rachel Summers’ telepathy. Marvel Comics.

In X-Men: Deadly Genesis (2005) #2, Vulcan proves his telepathy can affect physical systems. Notably, Rachel Summers as Marvel Girl, is one of the most powerful psionics in Marvel. At full potential, she can tap into the Phoenix Force. In the issue, Vulcan was able to stop current in her brain, effectively turning off her telepathy.

Since Rachel Summers has seemingly infinite telepathic potential, the feat is likely Infinite in Energy Projection.

EMPEROR VULCAN CAN SURVIVE BLACK BOLT’S SONIC SCREAM

In 'War of Kings' (2009) #2, Vulcan survives Bllack Bolt's point-blank scream.
In War of Kings (2009) #6, Vulcan survives Black Bolt’s sonic scream. Marvel Comics.

In War of Kings, the Shi’Ar Empire attacks the Kree Empire. In a catastrophic finale, Emperor Vulcan battles Emperor Black Bolt.

During the battle, both kings appear evenly matched. On the ropes, Black Bolt unleashes his sonic scream at point-blank range. As a result, Vulcan’s skin is burned to a crisp.

Before Black Bolt’s T-Bomb can explode, Crystal appears with Lockjaw to render the Terrigen crystals inert. Suddenly, Vulcan tackles Blackagar. Amazingly, he survived.

Before Black Bolt can be teleported, the T-Bomb explodes. In its place, is a rift in space-time called the Fault.

VULCAN IS SO POWERFUL HE OVERLOADS CEREBRA, KNOCKING OUT EMMA FROST

In 'X-Men: Deadly Genesis' (2005) #1, Vulcan's arrival to Earth overloads Cerebra, knocking out Emma Frost.
In X-Men: Deadly Genesis (2005) #1, Vulcan’s arrival to Earth overloads Cerebra, knocking out Emma Frost. Marvel Comics.

Since Cerebra can locate the mutants on Earth, it can indicate Vulcan’s power level. If at the time, there were 198 mutants, we can state that the Energy Projection required to overload Cerebra is Planetary-Level. Since Vulcan is an Omega-Level mutant, it is likely that his Energy Projection in X-Men: Deadly Genesis is at least Multi-Planetary or Stellar.

Because of Gabriel’s mastery of the EM spectrum, we can assume he has the potential for an Infinite-Level of Energy Projection. In fact, due to the requirement for infinite mass in order to reach the speed of light.

Multi-Planetary 58%

VULCAN TAKES ON THE SHI’AR IMPERIAL GUARD

In "X-Men: Rise And Fall Of The Shi'Ar Empire," Vulcan fights the Shi'Ar Imperial Guard.
In X-Men: Rise And Fall Of The Shi’Ar Empire, Vulcan fights the Shi’ar Imperial Guard. Marvel Comics.

In the story arc, Vulcan takes on Gladiator and the Shi’ar Imperial Guard. To this end, he plans to take down the Shi’ar Empire in order to avenge himself. In fact, the fight shows why Gabriel is such a dangerous foe. Indeed, his combination of ruthlessness, strategy, energy projection and durability prove more than a match for the Guard. However, when the mutant meets Gladiator, the battle soon turns around to the Imperial Guard’s favor.

Super Power Explained: THE Marvel Universe Strength Hierarchy Ranks The Top 10 Heroes And Villains By The Potential For Infinite Strength

SUPER POWER

DanCo

IN SUPER POWER EXPLAINED

THE STRONGEST MARVEL HEROES AND VILLAINS HAVE POTENTIAL FOR INFINITE STRENGTH

In ‘Avengers’ (2013) #4, Hyperion performs a super strength feat. In a flashback, Hyperion’s origin story is told: He survived the destruction of his home world in an incursion event that collapsed two universes together by holding them apart until they eventually collapsed. AP Photo/Marvel Comics.

In the Marvel Universe, the strongest heroes are gods, aliens, cyborgs and superhumans. Super strength appears primarily to be a super power gained in addition to other super powers either by accident, enchantment, science or alien physiology. In particular, super strength is the result of being a god, mutant, alien or superhuman. The strongest heroes such as Thor or Hulk, perform feats of super strength in difficult situations. By our standards, the strongest heroes display the potential for infinite strength. This list ranks them according to their greatest feats of super strength.

TOP 10 MARVEL HEROES AND VILLAINS

1. HERCULES

In ‘Incredible Hercules’ (2008) #121, Hercules lifts the heavens. AP Photo/Marvel Comics.

In the Olympian mythology, the heavens are the realm where the gods dwell and a potentially infinite dimension. In ‘Incredible Hercules’ (2008) #121, Hercules lifted the heavens to complete his Eleventh Labor. Here, Hercules demonstrated potentially infinite super strength. This feat has been talked about on the Internet and is the reason why Hercules deserves the top spot on this list.

SUPER STRENGTH FEAT:

Super Strength: Infinite 100%

2. HULK

In 'The Incredible Hulk' (1971) #135, Hulk punches through time to World War I.

In ‘Secret Wars II’ (1986) #8, the multiversal entity known as the Beyonder stated Hulk has the potential for unlimited super strength. At ScreenRant, Jose Caraballo tells a Bronze Age Hulk story. In a plot to defeat the Avengers, Kang the Conqueror theorizes the superhero team banded together in order to stop the Hulk. To this end, Kang travels from the 41st century to the present day Hulk.

Slyly, he tricks and recruits Hulk to time travel to World War I in order to prevent the Phantom Eagle from destroying an Axis super cannon. The effect would be to destroy a town where Hulk’s ancestors live thereby, preventing Hulk’s existence. During the time travel, the Green Goliath is caught in a time storm. Incredibly, Hulk punches through time with his fists to the precise time point in the past.

In general relativity, time travel requires an infinite amount of energy. This is definitely an infinite super strength feat.

3. HYPERION (MARCUS MILTON)

In ‘Heroes Reborn’ (2021) #2, Hyperion recently took down the Hulk in a vicious battle. However, the Marcus Milton of Earth-13034 once performed a feat that showcased his potential for infinite strength. In his origin story, he briefly held back the incursion of two universes by holding apart the two Earths from colliding. Considering the kinetic energies involved, this is a potential for near infinite strength.

4. SENTRY

In ‘Uncanny Avengers’ (2014) #21, Sentry holds Exitar the Celestial’s other foot to slow his descent on Earth. AP Photo/Marvel Comics.

Sentry has been stated to possess the power of a million exploding suns and was introduced to be Marvel’s version of Superman. Over the years, Sentry has shown the potential for limitless power. During “Siege,” he briefly took on Thor and the Avengers assembled. While discovering his powers, he demolecularized the Molecule Man who has the powers of the Beyonders on the Multiversal scale. But what about super strength?

During “To Avenge The Earth” storyline, a reborn Sentry was brought in to save the day. To prepare against the coming of Exitar the Celestial, who was stomping the Earth, Rogue had to absorb the powers of the Avengers, X-Men, and various other superheroes. With those powers, Rogue was able to slow the descent of only one of Exitar’s feet. Proving he is stronger than all the heroes combined, Sentry was able to hold the other foot on his own super strength.

Considering the Celestials weigh 260 tons or more, slowing down their descent in free fall shows the potential for infinite strength.

Thor is a Marvel superhero with indomitable willpower. In battle, he always seems to push himself past his limits. In fact, he is the Asgardian God of Thunder. In “Thor: Worldengine,” Thor performs one of his most OP feats yet. Following his would-be murder, Yggdrasil is thrown in disarray and the Asgardians fear a new Ragnarok. Thor investigates and finds out about a Worldengine in New York tampering with Yggdrasil.

In a twist, it has convinced the World Tree that Ragnarok has already come and that Thor must be erased. In reality, the Worldengine forced Yggdrasil to bring about Ragnarok. Pushing himself past his limits, Thor pushed the Worldengine in order to push the nine worlds back to their original position and prevent Ragnarok.

Though this is not infinity, Thor’s overhyped feat demonstrates an unlimited amount of super strength.

Is Stormbreaker more powerful than Mjolnir? To this day, Beta Ray Bill remains Thor’s truest brother-in-arms. What makes Beta Ray Bill so powerful is that he is as worthy of Mjolnir as Thor is. In the comics, Stormbreaker is at least Mjolnir’s equal. Considering that Mjolnir’s worthiness enchantment is half of Thor’s power that means Mjolnir has at least Universal Level of power.

In ‘Stormbreaker: The Saga Of Beta Ray Bill’ (2005) #2, Galactus attempts to feed on New Korbin. Beta Ray Bill comes in and courageously engages Galactus in battle. Miraculously, Bill cracks Galactus’ armor with Stormbreaker. From “The Coming Of Galactus”, we learn that it takes the Ultimate Nullifier a weapon capable of laying waste to the Marvel Universe in order to defeat Galactus.

Though this is not infinity, Beta Ray Bill’s feat is Universal Level in super strength. Bill deserves a spot on this list for showcasing the potential for limitless super strength.

In ‘Hulk’ (2008) #4, Uatu the Watcher has come down to Earth at the Gamma Base in Nevada. Indeed, he has come to witness the battle between the Green Hulk and the Red Hulk. Suddenly, he is interrupted in his narration by Red Hulk who punches him. Then, Red Hulk pummels him on the floor but is stopped by Green Hulk.

Uatu has been stated to possess the power to shake galaxies. For every force, there is an equal and opposite reaction, making Red Hulk’s punch at least Galaxy Level.

Throughout the cosmos, few are as feared as Gladiator. Praetor of the Shiar Imperial Guard, the Marvel powerhouse instills fear throughout the galaxy and commands respect. Much of Gladiator’s tremendous power comes from statements about him. He has beeen stated to be able to remove planets from their orbits and collapse stars with his bare hands. In fact, he does actually match some of these statements.
