IN POWER LEVEL EXPLAINED
The Beyonder may be the most mysterious entity in the Marvel cosmic hierarchy. Is he a god? A cosmic being? A Cosmic Cube? Let’s look at the reasons why Beyonder may be the closest version to Marvel’s God!
“I AM FROM BEYOND”
When ‘Secret Wars’ (1984) exploded into the pages of Marvel comics, it was the first crossover event in Marvel continuity. From the first pages, the Beyonder claimed to be “from beyond.”1 He made a tempting proposition to the heroes and villains.
In casual fashion, the Beyonder then went on to destroy a galaxy and rebuff Galactus and Doctor Doom. He created Battleworld out of the remains of nearby planets where heroes and villains would battle in order to win their hearts’ desires. Who is this Beyonder?
In reality, the Beyonder stems from the Beyond-Realm.
Read on!
The Beyond Realm was originally a being known as the Beyonder it was an infinite realm beyond the Marvel Multiverse (or Omniverse), and was the sum of everything outside the multiverse and that the Marvel Multiverse (or Omniverse) was a drop in the sea compared to the Beyond-realm. Making it infinitely bigger than the known Marvel Multiverse (Or Omniverse) at this time it is believed Here, that the Beyonder (Originally) is/was the all-powerful God, Creator, Ruler, and Inhabitant. He is everything and everyone in this realm as everything is him. His mere thought became reality anything he dreamed of was his and his alone with him in this Plane of Existence it would be utterly nothing.

WHY PRE-RETCON BEYONDER IS MARVEL’S GOD
HIS POWER IS IMAGINATION

In ‘Secret Wars’ (1985) II, Beyonder arrives on Earth. His purpose is to investigate the human feeling of desire. He is met with incomprehension and conflict follows with Earth’s heroes and villains. In one issue, Beyonder contemplates destroying the Marvel universe and everything in it. As he thinks, his thoughts cause universal disturbances. This shows Beyonder’s power is imagination.
PRE-RETCON BEYONDER SEEKS HOMAGE
In ‘Secret Wars II’ (1985), the Beyond controls animate life and inanimate objects to pay him homage. AP Photo/Marvel Comics.
In ‘Secret Wars II’ (1985), Beyonder extends his control to inanimate and animate life. Controlling every molecule and atom on Earth, Beyonder wants all things to pay him homage. How divine is that?
PRE-RETCON BEYONDER CAN DESTROY THE MARVEL MULTIVERSE
In ‘Secret Wars II’ (1985), Beyonder shows an impressive display of power. In front of the Magistrati, he gives Death a potion that kills her. An impressive feat since Death constitutes the semi-covered face of Living Tribunal and represents Vengeance. Furthermore, none of the Magistrati intervene to prevent this death, fearing Beyonder’s power. Finally, Death herself is a Multiversal entity.

Silver Surfer has been brought to Asgard by Loki’s mischief. His mission is to kill Thor in order to stop a purported war. Silver Surfer challenges Thor to a duel. During the battle, Silver Surfer uses the Power Cosmic to encase Mjolnir in a cosmic field to prevent Thor from reaching the Uru hammer. With Loki’s power augmenting his Power Cosmic, Silver Surfer prevented the enchantment on Thor’s hammer such that Mjolnir would not reach Thor.
We will use the mystical enchantment on Mjolnir in order to calculate the Silver Surfer’s energy projection.
THOR’S MJOLNIR
In ‘Journey Into Mystery’ (1964) #101, Thor has fallen in love with mortal Jane Foster. As he prepares to go to Asgard to plead his case to marry Jane, Loki projects a vision of Thor to Odin showing his plans. Odin decreases the worthiness enchantment on Mjolnir by half and bans Thor from Asgard until he renounces his love.

Mjolnir increases Thor’s power by half. Let’s estimate Thor’s energy projection from his highest power output which is the God Blast.
First, let’s estimate Galactus’ durability. In ‘Fantastic Four (1966) #50, Mister Fantastic retrieves the Ultimate Nullifier with the Human Torch’s help in order to stop Galactus from consuming the Earth. Mister Fantastic threatens Galactus with the Ultimate Nullifier who states Mister Fantastic has “the means to destroy a galaxy… to lay waste to a universe!!”1

Since Thor’s God Blast put Galactus near death, it is at least Universal Level in Energy Projection.
NUMBER CRUNCHING
The worthiness enchantment on Mjolnir gives Thor half of his divine power. The worthiness enchantment has been broken by Thor, the Red Norvell, Beta Ray Bill, and Captain America. They all have in common that they embrace the warrior code. Thor’s highest power, the God Blast, is Universal Level in Energy Projection. Thor does not need Mjolnir in order to project this super power and even at half power, can release it on his own.
Even at half power, Thor is Universal Level in Energy Projection. Since the universe has zero sum energy, Thor’s Energy Projection is half of that energy which equals the kinetic energy of the universe in expansion.
Kinetic Energy Of Universe Expansion = (0.5 * 1.5×10^53 kg)(73300^2 m/s) = 4.0296675*10^62 J.
ENERGY PROJECTION
Augmented by Loki, Silver Surfer was able to break the worthiness enchantment on Mjolnir. The worthiness enchantment grants Thor half of his power which is Universal Level in Energy Projection.
Silver Surfer generated half of the energy of the universe in Energy Projection. In order to encase Mjolnir in his cosmic field, Silver Surfer had to generate the kinetic energy of the universe, a Universal Level of Energy Projection.

Doctor Doom fought the Beyonder in the Beyond realm using the energy of Taa II. Doctor Doom was defeated and survived dissection by the Beyonder. Using his willpower, Doctor Doom overpowered Beyonder and stole his power.
Let’s estimate Doctor Doom’s willpower.
DOCTOR DOOM’S WILLPOWER
Doctor Doom has one of the strongest willpowers in the Marvel Universe. He has peered into millions of futures and he believes Doomworld is the only future where there is peace on Earth. In ‘The Avengers: Emperor Doom,’ Doctor Doom kidnaps the Purple Man in an attempt to mind control the whole Earth. In a duel, with the Purple Man, Doctor Doom resists the Purple Man’s mind control powers with his willpower alone.
In ‘The Avengers: Emperor Doom,’ in a duel, with the Purple Man, Doctor Doom resists the Purple Man’s mind control powers with his willpower alone.
Since Doctor Doom withstood Purple Man’s mind control whose powers were used to mind control the Earth, Doctor Doom’s willpower is at least Inventor.
In ‘Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars’ (1985) #10, Doctor Doom uses his willpower to steal the Beyonder’s power. In the scans, after Doctor Doom has stolen the Beyonder’s power and appears as a giant to the heroes, he claims to be the most powerful being in the Marvel Universe.
We will use these two examples to estimate Doctor Doom’s willpower.
NUMBER CRUNCHING
In the first example, since Doctor Doom resisted the Purple Man’s mind control, which was later used to mind control the Earth, his willpower is at least Inventor. Willpower is a function of mental power, so let’s calculate the power of Doctor Doom’s mind. Please refer to the Intelligence Scale.
Bytes Of Information In Doctor Doom’s Brain = (7,874,965,825 humans)(2.510*10^15 bytes)/(1 human) = 1.9766164*10^25 bytes.
In the second example, Doctor Doom overpowered Beyonder with his willpower, or the power of his mind. Since after stealing Beyonder’s power, Doctor Doom became the most powerful being in the Marvel Universe, we can estimate that his intelligence is at least equal to the Beyonder’s intelligence.
INTELLIGENCE
Since in the What If story, Doctor Doom was able to withstand the Purple Man’s mind control, it would seem his Intelligence Level is Mathematical Computation. However, in the second example, since Doctor Doom is able to overpower a true godlike being and become the Supreme Being in the Marvel Universe, his Intelligence Level is Universal.
Doctor Doom had to generate a Universal Level of Intelligence in order to overpower Beyonder with his willpower.

In ‘Superman: War Of The Supermen’ (2010) #2, titled “The Battle For Mars,” Lex Luthor performs an intelligence feat. In an all-out war with Zod and his Kryptonian army, General Lane commissions Lex Luthor to stop the attack on Earth. During the battle, Lex Luthor uses Rao’s cadaver and time pool technology to convert Sol into a red giant.
How much intelligence does it take for Lex Luthor to uses Rao’s cadaver and time pool technology to convert Sol into a red giant?
LEX LUTHOR USED RAO’S CADAVER TO TURN EARTH’S YELLOW SUN INTO RAO, THE RED GIANT.

Lex Luthor used highly advanced technology in order to achieve two things: harness the power of a red giant, namely, the cadaver of Rao; and use time pool technology in order to time travel five billion years into the future, when Sol, our yellow sun, turns into a red giant.
We will calculate these measures to estimate the amount of information required to use time pool technology to time travel five billion years into the future.
NUMBER CRUNCHING
We can assume Lex Luthor sent a missile to time travel five billion years into the future since that is when Sol, our yellow sun, turns into a red giant.
Let’s calculate the energy produced by the sun in 5 billion years. The sun produces 3.846*10^26 J/s of energy.
Energy Produced By The Sun In 5 Billion Years = (3.846*10^26 J/s)(12 months*30 days*24 hr*8600 s*5*10^9 years) = 1.4288659*10^44 J.
Currently, humans have not figured out time travel. According to Einstein’s theory of special relativity, an object would have to travel at the speed of light in order to time travel. According to Space.com, at the speed of light, an object would have infinite mass and a length of 0.
INTELLIGENCE
Lex Luthor used time pool technology to send a missile armed with Rao’s energy to time travel five billion years in order to turn Sol, our yellow sun, into Rao, a red giant. Time pool technology utilizes time travel in order to access different points in time. According to Einstein’s theory of special relativity, time travel requires to attain the speed of light, which requires an infinite amount of energy. Therefore, Lex Luthor likely processed an infinite amount of information in order to arm the missile and send it for time travel five billion years into the future.
Lex Luthor had to process an Infinite Level of Intelligence to use time pool technology and arm the missile with Rao’s cadaver.

METALLO’S DURABILITY
Typically, Metallo is made of an indestructible steel alloy. We will use Metallo’s feat in ‘Adventures of Superman’ (1992) #491, in order to calculate Metallo’s durability. Here, Metallo’s indestructible metal alloy upgraded by Cerberus actually reflects Superman’s heat vision.
In ‘Adventures of Superman’ (1992) #491, Metallo’s indestructible metal alloy upgraded by Cerberus actually reflects Superman’s heat vision. AP Photo/DC Comics.
NUMBER CRUNCHING
Metallo’s upgraded steel alloy reflected Superman’s heat vision. Typically, Superman’s heat vision reaches temperatures as hot as the sun’s surface, which is about 5520 degrees C. Let’s calculate the thermal energy discharged by Superman in order to estimate Metallo’s durability.
Thermal Energy = W on system = (5,520 C-20 C)(480 J/kg C)(272.155 kg*0.2) = 13343370.8561 J.
It takes more than 13343370.8561 Joules of energy in order to destroy Metallo’s upgraded steel alloy. This is merely a rough estimate and it is very possible that it would take millions of degrees Celsius, a temperature matching the sun’s core, in order to melt Metallo’s upgraded steel alloy. Our strategy is to use the Conservation of Energy to calculate the kinetic energy used by Steel’s kinetic hammer to knock off Metallo’s head from the thermal energy or work done on the system.
Since the change in kinetic energy equals the work done on the system, we can calculate the impact force in the elastic collision. The elastic collision caused Metallo’s head to travel five meters from its body. We previously assumed that Metallo’s head was approximately 1.8% of his body weight. This is in relation to the human brain weighing about 1.3 kg.
Let’s calculate Metallo’s Super Strength Level. According to the SUPERPOWERWIKI, Peak Human Strength is between 800-1000 lbs. Let’s use the higher value of 1000 lbs which converts to 453.592 kg. We can use Metallo’s durability ratio in comparison to a human being’s daily energy expenditure in order to calculate Metallo’s Super-Strength.
Metallo’s Super-Strength = Peak Human Strength * (153715.632262)(1/0.01857142857) = 8086354728.8 kg = 8086354.7288 Tons
SUPER-STRENGTH
Metallo’s upgraded indestructible steel alloy can reflect Superman’s heat vision. The energy needed to melt Metallo’s steel alloy is likely in the millions of degrees Celsius, which is as hot as the sun’s core. In our calculations, we assumed Steel matched the thermal energy of Superman’s heat vision with his kinetic hammer.
Steel’s kinetic hammer generated 13343370.8561 Joules of kinetic energy knocking off Metallo’s head in an elastic collision. Using an energy ratio, we rated Metallo’s Super-Strength to be 8086354.7288 Tons, which is the City Level of Super-Strength.

Calculations for Steel, ‘Steel’ #21
Specific Heat Capacity Of Steel = 480 J/kg C
Energy Expenditure By A Human In A Day = 7,500,000 J/day.
Mass Of Metallo = 272.155 kg.
Temperature At The Surface Of The Sun = 5520 C.
Thermal Energy = W on system = (5,520 C-20 C)(480 J/kg C)(272.155 kg*0.01857142857) = 13343370.8561 J.
Impact Force = W/d = (113343370.8561 J)/(5 m) = 2668674.17122 N.
Ratio = (13343370.8561 J * 24 hr * 3600 * 1 day)/(7,500,000 J/day * 1 hr * 1 s) = 153715.632262.
Metallo’s Super-Strength = Peak Human Strength * (153715.632262)(1/0.01857142857) = (453.592 kg)(331079.82336)(1/0.01857142857) = 8086354728.8 kg = 8086354.7288 Tons.
