AFTER THE KREE-SKRULL WAR, THE ILLUMINATI FORMS

In ‘New Avengers: Illuminati’ (2006) #1, the Illuminati forms while Black Panther leaves. To begin, Iron Man has convened a secret meeting in Wakanda with Professor X, Black Bolt, King Namor, Mister Fantastic, Black Panther and Doctor Strange. After the Kree-Skrull War, Iron Man believes the disaster could have been averted if the heroes had shared the pieces of information they possessed. In his prescience, Iron Man proposes to gather the different superhero teams together in order to share resources and information.

Forward in the future, perhaps, the Superhero Registration Act could have been averted had the heroes presented a united front early on. Hopefully, he intends to create a planetary law enforcement to the rest of the universe. Unfortunately, the other attendees do not agree. First, Mister Fantastic questions the scale of the “delegation” and a qualified leadership.1 Second, Doctor Strange raises the problem of bureaucracy. Third, Professor X states Iron Man’s proposition is based on the new fear of the Avengers after the War. Fourth, Black Panther predicts that humans and mutant heroes alike would end up hated together.

KING NAMOR VOTES IN FAVOR OF FORMING THE ILLUMINATI

Fifth, King Namor points out that the Avengers have recruited terrorists such as Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver and Hawkeye. In addition, he tells of rumors of a Canadian mutant working as an assassin referring to Wolverine. Finally, he questions whether Black Bolt’s brother who was the architect of the invasion, was executed for his crimes.Nevertheless, Mister Fantastic sees merit in sharing information to save lives.

In fact, Doctor Strange suggests they meet privately and Mister Fantastic agrees for the “big things.”1 For his part, Namor trusts the attendees but asks for secrecy. Though he is hesitant, Professor X agrees to scan the minds of everyone at Iron Man’s request. Decisively, Mister Fantastic decides to put forming the team to a vote. All are in favor, except Black Panther. Sternly, he questions the group’s cohesion and the need for secrecy. Then, he departs.

OPPOSING THE HULK DECISION, NAMOR PREDICTS HULK WILL SEEK VENGEANCE ON THE ILLUMINATI

In a recent rampage in Las Vegas, Hulk killed 26 people and a dog. During the S.H.I.E.L.D. briefing, Maria Hill questions what the heroes are doing about the situation. Similarly, she relates Hulk’s lack of control and sporadic heroism to Spider-Man and his unwillingness to finish off Green Goblin alias Norman Osborn. For its part, the government is looking to blame the heroes for their inaction. Some time later, during “House of M,” the Illuminati convene at the Avengers Hydrobase, a former base of operations.

Sinisterly, Iron Man proposes to rocket Hulk into space on an abandoned planet where he will not hurt anyone. Angrily, Namor accuses the heroes of not doing enough to help cure Bruce Banner and opposes the decision. Strongly, Mister Fantastic defends his work in attempting to cure Thing and dampen Hulk; even, Doctor Strange’s attempts to banish Hulk at the crossroads. In reverse, Namor sees the move as retaliation for the Avengers’ failure to prevent House of M.

KING NAMOR VOTES AGAINST HULK’S EXILE

Nevertheless, Mister Fantastic puts it to a vote: Iron Man, Mister Fantastic, Black Bolt and Doctor Strange vote in favor. Violently, Namor attacks Iron Man. To no avail, Mister Fantastic tries to restrain him but Namor goes in pursuit. Sluggishly, the two heroes slug it out underwater. Until, Doctor Strange puts an end to the brawl by encasing both in spells.

Again, King Namor opposes the decision. Prophetically, he predicts Hulk will come back to Earth and he will kill the Illuminati. In fact, he will be correct. Now free, Namor plunges into the waters stating that T’Challa was also correct. Due to “House of M,” Professor X was absent from the vote.

HULK INVADES EARTH AND FORCES THE ILLUMINATI PRISONERS TO FIGHT AS GLADIATORS

When World War Hulk invaded the Earth, he set up a gladiatorial arena in New York City. In ‘World War Hulk’ (2007) #4, Hulk forces the Illuminati to fight as gladiators. Strapped with Obedience Disks, Iron Man, Mister Fantastic, a “Black Bolt” usurper and Doctor Strange fight against a Devil Korker from Sakaar.

Together, they work in team and manage to defeat the monster. Then, in a twist, World War Hulk activates their Obedience Disks to force them to fight each other to the death. When Mister Fantastic defeats Tony Stark, he fights against giving him the killing blow. Heroically, Tony tells him it is the right thing in order to save billions. Sinisterly, Hulk gives Iron Man the thumbs down.

IN SUPERHERO BATTLES

WONDER MAN (SIMON WILLIAMS)
EARTH-616

In ‘Avengers’ (2012) #31, titled “End Times”, Wonder Man performs a fighting skill feat. To begin, the Avengers are recovering from the fallout of “AvX”. Meanwhile, Wonder Man has come to Avengers Tower to ask Captain America for help. Suddenly, Red Hulk attacks him. During the fight, Wonder Man chokes out Red Hulk.

How much fighting skill does it take for Wonder Man to choke out Red Hulk?

IN THE ISSUE, WONDER MAN CHOKED OUT RED HULK IN A PLANETARY LEVEL ATTACK.

IMPORTANTLY, WONDER MAN GENERATED THE EQUIVALENT OF 1.545431*10^18 CALORIES BURNED. OR, 6.4660831*10^21 JOULES OF BIOCHEMICAL EXPENDITURE.

SIMILARLY, THE ATTACK WAS STRONGER THAN 9.2958253*10^12 MEN AND 2.5 TIMES THE ENERGY RECEIVED BY THE EARTH. TO SUM, ENOUGH TO DESTROY A SMALL COUNTRY.

Wonder Man choked out Red Hulk. Wonder Man likely held Red Hulk longer than he can hold his breath.

We will use Hulk’s lung capacity from a crossover comic to estimate Red Hulk’s lung capacity.

HULK’S DURABILITY

In ‘Batman vs The Incredible Hulk’ (1995) #1, Batman attacks Hulk with sleeping gas. Since Hulk can hold his breath for half a year, the Dark Knight attacked a pressure point. Using martial arts, Batman kicked Hulk at the solar plexus. Incredibly, this caused the Green Goliath to gasp for air, knocking him out.

In 'Batman vs The Incredible Hulk' Batman performs a super strength feat. During the battle, Batman kicks Hulk at the solar plexus, depriving him of air and making the monster susceptible to sleeping gas.
In ‘Batman vs The Incredible Hulk’ (1995) #1, Batman performs a super strength feat. During the battle, Batman kicks Hulk at the solar plexus, depriving him of air and making the monster susceptible to sleeping gas. AP Photo/DC Comics.

We will use this feat to calculate Hulk’s lung capacity.

NUMBER CRUNCHING

In “Feat: Batman, ‘Batman vs The Incredible Hulk’ #1”, we extrapolated the Hulk’s lung capacity. The energy of Hulk’s vital capacity was 6.4660831*1021 Joules.

Since Red Hulk has the Hulk’s super powers, we can estimate him to have similar vital capacity.

FIGHTING SKILLS

Wonder Man generated 6.4660831*1021 Joules of biochemical energy to choke out Red Hulk. Simon had to generate a Warrior Madness Level of Fighting Skills since he likely hit Red Hulk with a Planetary attack.

According to Battle Ranker: The Competition, since Wonder Man generated a Planetary Level choke hold, he can defeat 500000001-10E13 men in combat.

In order to finally defeat his foe, Kang peers through time with his tempovision. Finally, he has a plan. Quickly, he hurtles through in a spheroid to World War I. However, he is trapped in a time-storm. Since it might damage his craft, he returns to the 41st century. In order to find someone strong enough to survive the time-storm, Kang locates Hulk in the 20th century. Then, bringing him to his time, Kang tells Hulk his plan.

Slyly, the Green Goliath must travel to World War I. Specifically, his mission is to stop the Phantom Eagle from destroying a cannon of the Axis Powers. What Kang, however, does not say is that, the cannon will destroy a town where Hulk’s ancestors lived. Indeed, Kang correctly determined that the Avengers were formed to stop Hulk. IN 1963, LOKI MANIPULATES HULK IN ORDER TO FIGHT THOR

In ‘Avengers’ (1963) #1, the Avengers make their spectacular debut. To begin, Loki is imprisoned on the Isle of Silence on Odin’s order. Sinisterly, the God of Evil blames Thor. In his latest scheme, he plans to bring Thor to the Isle to get his revenge. Using thought projection, Loki travels to Earth and after long hours, he located the incredible Hulk. Mentally, he creates an illusion before Hulk’s sight of dynamite on the train tracks. Misjudging his super strength, Hulk leaps and destroys the train tracks.

In order to save an incoming train, Hulk stands on a boulder and supports the damaged tracks. Though the train passes safely, Hulk is once again a wanted man. Finding out about recent reports, the Teen Brigade contacts the Fantastic Four. Unbeknownst to them, Loki intercepts their radio wave, sending it to Dr. Blake’s office. Super Power Explained: THE Marvel Universe Strength Hierarchy Ranks The Top 10 Heroes And Villains By The Potential For Infinite Strength

SUPER POWER

DanCo

IN SUPER POWER EXPLAINED

THE STRONGEST MARVEL HEROES AND VILLAINS HAVE POTENTIAL FOR INFINITE STRENGTH

In ‘Avengers’ (2013) #4, Hyperion performs a super strength feat. In a flashback, Hyperion’s origin story is told: He survived the destruction of his home world in an incursion event that collapsed two universes together by holding them apart until they eventually collapsed. AP Photo/Marvel Comics.

In the Marvel Universe, the strongest heroes are gods, aliens, cyborgs and superhumans. Super strength appears primarily to be a super power gained in addition to other super powers either by accident, enchantment, science or alien physiology. In particular, super strength is the result of being a god, mutant, alien or superhuman. The strongest heroes such as Thor or Hulk, perform feats of super strength in difficult situations. By our standards, the strongest heroes display the potential for infinite strength. This list ranks them according to their greatest feats of super strength.

TOP 10 MARVEL HEROES AND VILLAINS

1. HERCULES

In ‘Incredible Hercules’ (2008) #121, Hercules lifts the heavens. AP Photo/Marvel Comics.

In the Olympian mythology, the heavens are the realm where the gods dwell and a potentially infinite dimension. In ‘Incredible Hercules’ (2008) #121, Hercules lifted the heavens to complete his Eleventh Labor. Here, Hercules demonstrated potentially infinite super strength. This feat has been talked about on the Internet and is the reason why Hercules deserves the top spot on this list.

SUPER STRENGTH FEAT:

Super Strength: Infinite 100%

2. HULK

In 'The Incredible Hulk' (1971) #135, Hulk punches through time to World War I.
In ‘The Incredible Hulk’ (1971) #135, Hulk punches through time to World War I. AP Photo/Marvel Comics.

In ‘Secret Wars II’ (1986) #8, the multiversal entity known as the Beyonder stated Hulk has the potential for unlimited super strength. At ScreenRant, Jose Caraballo tells a Bronze Age Hulk story. In a plot to defeat the Avengers, Kang the Conqueror theorizes the superhero team banded together in order to stop the Hulk. To this end, Kang travels from the 41st century to the present day Hulk.

Slyly, he tricks and recruits Hulk to time travel to World War I in order to prevent the Phantom Eagle from destroying an Axis super cannon. The effect would be to destroy a town where Hulk’s ancestors live thereby, preventing Hulk’s existence. During the time travel, the Green Goliath is caught in a time storm. Incredibly, Hulk punches through time with his fists to the precise time point in the past.

In general relativity, time travel requires an infinite amount of energy. This is definitely an infinite super strength feat.

3. HYPERION (MARCUS MILTON)

In ‘Avengers’ (2013) #4, Hyperion performs a super strength feat. In ‘Heroes Reborn’ (2021) #2, Hyperion recently took down the Hulk in a vicious battle. However, the Marcus Milton of Earth-13034 once performed a feat that showcased his potential for infinite strength. In his origin story, he briefly held back the incursion of two universes by holding apart the two Earths from colliding. Considering the kinetic energies involved, this is a potential for near infinite strength.

Sentry has been stated to possess the power of a million exploding suns and was introduced to be Marvel’s version of Superman. Over the years, Sentry has shown the potential for limitless power. During “Siege,” he briefly took on Thor and the Avengers assembled. While discovering his powers, he demolecularized the Molecule Man who has the powers of the Beyonders on the Multiversal scale. But what about super strength?

During “To Avenge The Earth” storyline, a reborn Sentry was brought in to save the day. To prepare against the coming of Exitar the Celestial, who was stomping the Earth, Rogue had to absorb the powers of the Avengers, X-Men, and various other superheroes. With those powers, Rogue was able to slow the descent of only one of Exitar’s feet. Proving he is stronger than all the heroes combined, Sentry was able to hold the other foot on his own super strength.

Considering the Celestials weigh 260 tons or more, slowing down their descent in free fall shows the potential for infinite strength.

Thor is a Marvel superhero with indomitable willpower. In battle, he always seems to push himself past his limits. In fact, he is the Asgardian God of Thunder. In “Thor: Worldengine,” Thor performs one of his most OP feats yet. Following his would-be murder, Yggdrasil is thrown in disarray and the Asgardians fear a new Ragnarok. Thor investigates and finds out about a Worldengine in New York tampering with Yggdrasil.

In a twist, it has convinced the World Tree that Ragnarok has already come and that Thor must be erased. In reality, the Worldengine forced Yggdrasil to bring about Ragnarok. Pushing himself past his limits, Thor pushed the Worldengine in order to push the nine worlds back to their original position and prevent Ragnarok.

Is Stormbreaker more powerful than Mjolnir? To this day, Beta Ray Bill remains Thor’s truest brother-in-arms. What makes Beta Ray Bill so powerful is that he is as worthy of Mjolnir as Thor is. In the comics, Stormbreaker is at least Mjolnir’s equal. Considering that Mjolnir’s worthiness enchantment is half of Thor’s power that means Mjolnir has at least Universal Level of power.

In ‘Stormbreaker: The Saga Of Beta Ray Bill’ (2005) #2, Galactus attempts to feed on New Korbin. Beta Ray Bill comes in and courageously engages Galactus in battle. Miraculously, Bill cracks Galactus’ armor with Stormbreaker. From “The Coming Of Galactus”, we learn that it takes the Ultimate Nullifier a weapon capable of laying waste to the Marvel Universe in order to defeat Galactus.

IN POWER LEVEL

BATMAN (BRUCE WAYNE)
EARTH-ONE

In ‘Batman vs The Incredible Hulk’ (1995) #1, titled “The Monster and The Madman”, Batman performs a fighting skills feat. Hired by the Shaper of Worlds, Joker has robed one of Bruce Wayne’s labs and turned Hulk against Batman. During the battle, Batman kicks Hulk at the solar plexus, depriving him of air and making the monster susceptible to sleeping gas.

How much fighting skill does it take for Batman to kick Hulk at the solar plexus, depriving him of air?

Batman is cornered by the Hulk and has nowhere to go. In order to even the odds, he triggers sleeping gas. However, Hulk, displaying some measure of intelligence, holds his breath. Batman states that “Hulk can hold his breath from now till next Christmas.”1

We will use this statement to estimate Hulk’s vital capacity. This will help us determine the strength of Batman’s kick at Hulk’s solar plexus.

NUMBER CRUNCHING

The Hulk possesses an organ that allows him to breathe underwater. At the same time, his lung capacity allows him to hold his breath for an indefinite amount of time. Vital capacity is a measure of how much air our lungs can retain, when holding our breath. In this feat, Hulk holding his breath is actually a function of his vital capacity.

It must be noted, that though Hulk is Bruce Banner’s transformation into a monster, we can still assume that he is an oversized human to simplify our calculations. In Investigation: What Factors Affect Lung Capacity we use a graph in order to estimate lung capacity (L) from the change in diameter (cm) after exhaling into a balloon.

Below is the graph.

Batman, ‘Batman vs The Incredible Hulk’ #1

Using a program, I obtained the equation of the best-fit parabola:

Equation of parabola = 19.9124x^2 − 212.429x + 448.505.

According to Batman, Hulk can hold his breath for six months. Let’s obtain the ratio of breath holding for a human, which is between 30s and 90s.

Ratio of Breath Holding = (6 months*30 days*24 hours*3600 seconds)/(90 seconds) = 172800.

Next, we use the fact a human can retain 6 Liters of air to compute the diameter at 22.8 cm. To find Hulk’s ballon diameter, we multiply by our ratio.

Balloon Diameter = (172800*22.8) = 3939840 cm.

Now we can find Hulk’s vital capacity.

Vital Capacity = (19.9124*3939840*3939840 – 212.429*3939840 + 448.505) = 3.0908619*10^14 Liters.

The metabolism of breathing is burning about 5000 calories. We can use this to find the energy in Joules used by Hulk’s vital capacity.

Energy in Joules = (5000 calories*3.0908619*10^14 Liters*4184 J)/(1 calorie) = 6.4660831*10^21 Joules.

Let’s calculate the calories burned by Batman during a 10 minute martial arts activity.

Batman, ‘Batman vs The Incredible Hulk’ #1

If we divide the super strength of Batman’s kick by the metabolic expenditure in 10 minutes, we get the following: = (6.4660831*10^21 J*1 cal)/(166250 cal*4184 J) = 9.2958253*10^12.

FIGHTING SKILLS

In order to deprive Hulk of air, Batman had to generate a kick of 6.4660831*10^21 Joules of energy. That is a mammoth amount of energy. In comparison, the Earth receives 430*10^18 Joules/hr of energy from the sun.

Batman had to generate a Planetary Level of Super Strength in his kick. This is not humanly feasible and shows that Batman likely used martial arts and chi to kick Hulk at a pressure point, namely the solar plexus.

According to Battle Ranker: The Competition, since Batman generated a Planetary Level kick, he can defeat 500000001-10E13 men in combat. Therefore, Batman generated a Warrior Madness Level of Fighting Skills with his pressure point kick.

Iron Man used this armor to battle the Hulk which was a very brutal fight. It was heavily damaged by the collapse of Stark Tower; its remains were briefly possessed by the extradimensional demon named Zom. It was subsequently deactivated and was presumably salvaged by Stark Industries or S.H.I.E.L.D. later.

When Tony Stark undertook his reformed company Stark Resilient, a model of this armor was dismantled and melted.

Iron Man located one of the sample to a French catacomb where 13 superhumans were being created. Iron Man created the Heavy Duty armor in order to take down the superpowered individuals at the same time.

Later, Iron Man faced Hulk with the Heavy Duty Hulkbuster armor. Though Iron Man used all his arsenal, he was not successful and Hulk turned it into scrap.

The Hulkbuster Armor was next used by Iron Man when Captain Marvel rallied the Avengers to capture Bruce Banner. Due to his possession by the One Below All, the Hulk managed to easily overpower the team. The Hulkbuster’s repulsor beams had little effect on the Hulk, and the armor suffered critical manage with a single blow. After the Hulk tore off the armor’s arms, the suit suffered a cascading failure. Tony had to use the armor’s manual release to activate its ejection system. As soon as Tony ejected out of the armor using its detached helmet for propulsion, the armor exploded.
