SSJ BROLY AND THE GREAT APE ARE THE STRONGEST SAIYAN TRANSFORMATIONS

Today, we reveal a rivalry that has yet to appear in Dragon Ball Canon. This winter, we celebrate the Dragon Ball franchise and its popular characters. In the Dragon Ball universe, the Legendary Super Saiyan and the Great Ape are the strongest saiyan transformations.

In his fictional history, Broly is known as the Legendary Super Saiyan. In his origin, he is the mutant son of Paragus who developed a hatred for Goku’s constant crying at birth and the treatment of the Saiyans over the years. Really, Broly has unlimited rage which fuels his powerful Saiyan transformations.

Similarly, the Great Ape is a Saiyan transformation that multiplies by a factor of 10 a Saiyan’s base level of power. During the times of conquest with Frieza’s army, the Saiyans would conquer worlds with the Great Ape transformations, laying waste to entire planets. 

Though their rivalry is not well known, Broly has yet to face the Great Ape in the canon. However, in the arcade game by Dimps called Dragon Ball Heroes, Broly turns into the Legendary Super Saiyan Great Ape when he escapes the Sacred World of the Kai.

Though SSJ Broly and Great Ape Vegeta for example are not comparable in power level, since Broly is stronger, we compare them in potential for unlimited strength or unlimited rage.

Let’s look at how SSJ Broly and Great Ape Vegeta compare in strength.

In 1993, Chiaki Imada released Dragon Ball Z: Broly – The Legendary Super Saiyan on Toei Animation. Certainly, a pop-culture phenomenon that introduces fans to the most popular villain in the Dragon Ball Z saga: Broly.

Moreover, the film is notable for the origin story of the villain, the explanation about the Legendary Super Saiyan and impressive battle sequences. Also, the Legendary Super Saiyan transformation is a highlight.

Importantly, it features one of the best Broly vs Goku moments as the latter goes toe to toe with the juggernaut. After the Saiyans are defeated, Goku asks them to channel their powers into him to defeat Broly.

With the power to destroy a planet in one blast, Trunks stated that SSJ Broly can destroy Universe 7. At the same time, his unlimited rage may finally meet his match against Oozaru, the Great Ape.

TV: GREAT APE VEGETA CANNOT BE OVERPOWERED

Really, Dragon Ball Z Kai (2009-2011) is among the best anime shows. Though the show ran for two years, it was among the most memorable sagas of the franchise with the origin story of Goku, the Saiyans and Vegeta.

Perhaps, one of its best celebrated moments is the birth of the Goku vs Vegeta rivalry. After his return from the Kai world and his resurrection, Goku must fight the Saiyan invasion of Prince Vegeta and Nappa.

In episode 15 of Dragon Ball Z Kai, Goku has pushed his body to its limits with the Kaioken technique and must now fight the Great Ape Vegeta. On the ropes, the warrior plans to use the Spirit Bomb to destroy Vegeta.

Considering in canon that the Great Ape has the power to destroy a planet, it is not as powerful as Broly. However, no one has been able to overpower the Great Ape which has survived even the Spirit Bomb though it has destroyed Buu. Definitely, the Great Ape possesses unlimited strength.
