In TURTLES of Grayskull, Dark Horse comics had a financial success. With four waves of action figures released each with a mini-comic, the crossover showcased why the TMNT belong on the list of 10 Best Fighters From the Dark Horse Universe, Ranked. Though, adapted into the eponymous mini-comic by Freddie Williams II, it received poor promotion.
Let’s list five reasons for and against why Leonardo is Master Splinter’s best student.
5. FOR: LEONARDO AND MAN-AT-ARMS LEAD MOTU AND TMNT AGAINST BLUE MUTATED HE-MAN, RAM MAN AND MOSS MAN
In Masters of the Universe/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles of Grayskull (Masters of the Universe/TMNT Crossover) (2024), the TMNT accidentally travel to Eternia. After Skeletor and Shredder mutate the MOTU the TMNT team-up with Man-At-Arms and Beast Man to free them. Though Man-At-Arms leads their battle cry, Leonardo leads the charge.
4. AGAINST: RAPHAEL OPPOSES SCIENTIST BAXTER STOCKMAN’S MIND CONTROL
In our Back to School and Fall campaign, we have the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Stranger Things, where the TMNT teams up with our favorite out of school kids. Indeed, when the team-up must rescue one of their members from scientist Baxter, the unlikely Raphael emerges. Though, he may be their best chance against mind control.

3. FOR: LEONARDO AND MICHAELANGELO LEAD STRANGER THINGS TO UPSIDE DOWN PORTAL
In issue #3 of the TMNT x Stranger Things (2023), Leonardo, Michelangelo, Will, Lucas, and Dustin journey through the NYC subway system to the Upside Down portal. There, they hope to stop the invasion of monsters.
2. AGAINST: TMNT TEAM-UP WITH STRANGER THINGS TO FACE FINAL MONSTER
In issue #4, the TMNT and Stranger Things face the final monster. More importantly, the heroes are overwhelmed and no clear leader emerges. Indeed, it is a team effort.
1. FOR: STEALTH HE-MAN AND STEALTH LEONARDO SAVE THEIR FRIENDS FROM SKELETOR AND SHREDDER
Perhaps, the greatest example of leadership by Raphael. In He-Man in a Half-Shell, Stealth Leonardo and Stealth He-Man infiltrate the Ooze Pit to free the MoTU from prison. This way, they prepare their forces for the final battle. And Leonardo shows he is the bravest of the TMNT.
