SUPER-SKRULL MAY APPEAR IN THE NEW FF MOVIE

In 2019, fans of CAPTAIN MARVEL [Blu-ray], got a glimpse for the possible direction of the new Fantastic Four movie. In short, the movie is about Kree super-spy Carol Danvers. As she struggles to regain her memories, Carol is caught in a war between the Kree and the shape-shifting Skrulls. Eventually, she becomes Captain Marvel, a galactic superhero. At ScreenRant, Chris Voyage speculates that Super-Skrull would be the perfect villain for the FF’s MCU debut.

In addition, clues have been planted in Spider-Man: Far From Home, about the upcoming Disney+ show Secret Invasion. In fact, it is based on the eponymous comic where Earth is invaded by Skrull spies. Dangerously, the spies use their shape-shifting powers to impersonate Earth’s heroes. For their part, let’s look at the first war between Super-Skrull and the Fantastic Four.

AFTER A PREVIOUS FAILED INVASION, THE EMPEROR SENDS SUPER-SKRULL TO INVADE EARTH

In the fifth quadrant of the Andromeda galaxy, on Tarnax IV, the Skrull Emperor plans to invade Earth. Previously, the Fantastic Four thwarted the Skrull invasion. This time, they are sending the Super-Skrull named Kl’rt. With the powers of the FF, Kl’rt is even stronger than the team combined.

A week later, the Fantastic Four respond to reports of an alien sighting at Times Square. There, Super-Skrull appears and plants the Skrull flag on the ground. Thereby, Kl’rt claims Earth as a Skrull colony. When a mob attacks him, Super-Skrull bats them aside. Soon, the FF battle Super-Skrull but are no match. In the end, the Fantastic Four are forced to flee.

IN A FINAL BATTLE, THE FF IMPRISON SUPER-SKRULL IN A VOLCANO

In the final battle, the Fantastic Four goad Super-Skrull on an abandoned island named Crater Isle. Previously, Reed deduced the source of Kl’rt’s powers. Indeed, he derives his amazing super powers from a homing beacon to the Skrull Throneworld. Quickly, Mister Fantastic constructed a jamming device.

During the battle, the Fantastic Four distract Super-Skrull. Meanwhile, Invisible Girl plants the jamming device. Amazingly, the device deprives Kl’rt access to his super powers. Now powerless, Super-Skrull is knocked into a volcano. To finish him, Human Torch seals the sand over the opening with his flame.

THE THING’S ROCK-LIKE SKIN CAN WITHSTAND IMMENSE PRESSURES

.In 'Fantastic Four' (1981) #235, The Thing carries a bomb from the surface of Ego the living planet to its brain, enduring immense heat and pressure.
In Fantastic Four (1981) #235, The Thing carries a bomb from the surface of Ego the living planet to its brain, enduring immense heat and pressure. Marvel Comics.

During the Silver Age, the Fantastic Four first appeared. In Fantastic Four (1961) #1, we learn of the superhero team’s origin story. During the Cold War, a team of astronauts are involved in the Space Race. In order to beat the Communists, Reed Richards, Susan Storm, Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm sneak aboard a rocket. Previously, Ben had warned the team about the need to shield against cosmic rays. Unfortunately, the rocket is bombarded by cosmic rays in space.

In the issue, they acquire super powers and become… the Fantastic Four. Notably, scientist Reed Richards develops the ability to stretch his skin. For her part, Invisible Girl is able to generate force fields and turn invisible. Johnny Storm becomes the Human Torch. And Ben Grimm develops a tough rock-like skin that grants him super strength.

In fact, The Thing’s rock-like skin is highly durable and can withstand injury, impact, pressures and extreme heat. In Fantastic Four (1981) #235, The Thing carries a bomb from the surface of Ego the living planet to its brain, enduring immense heat and pressure. Moreover, Thing is most known for his tremendous super strength.

Let’s list five feats that show Thing may have Planetary-Level of Super Strength.

WHY THING CAN BUST A PLANET

5. STOPPING AN ALIEN CRAFT FROM TAKING OFF FROM EARTH

In 4 (2004) #7, Ben uses his great strength to prevent an alien ship from taking off.
In 4 (2004) #7, Ben uses his great strength to prevent an alien ship from taking off. Marvel Comics.

Critically, the Fantastic Four are the premiere Marvel superhero team. At CBR.com, Evan Hopkins lists At The Four-Front: 15 Fantastic Four Teams Way Better Than The Original. In some sense, what makes them work is their blend of advanced science and adventure.

In 4 (2004) #7, the FF showcase why they have the perfect team-work. To begin, Mister Fantastic and a team of filmmakers are aboard an alien ship. When the aliens prepare for departure, Mister Fantastic begins to predict his team’s next moves.

In fact, he knows Ben will use his great strength to prevent the ship from taking off. However, he also knows the limits of Thing’s super power. In fact, Ben will fail. Next, the second teammate is Sue Storm who will help Ben succeed. Indeed, Reed’s predictions turn out correct.

And considering the amount of thrust for the alien ship to take-off, Thing’s feat is potentially Planetary-Level. According to NASA, rockets require a thrust of 5.3 million pounds to reach escape velocity. Since this is an alien ship, the energy demands are likely higher.

4. GOING TOE TO TOE WITH NAMOR

In Uncanny X-Men (2012) #2, Namor and Thing brawled. Marvel Comics.

Really, Thing deserves more respect in the Marvel Universe. In Uncanny X-Men (2012) #2, Namor and Thing brawled. To this end, the Avengers and X-Men were in search of Hope Summers at Tabula Rasa. Accidentally, the two teams bumped onto each other on the island. After dispatching Luke Cage, King Namor went toe to toe with Thing.

Really, Thing has faced quality opponents. In the past, Namor has fought Hercules who has fought Hulk who has fought… Thing. Indeed, get the idea? And considering the competition, we are talking about at least Planetary-Level.

3. THING HAS BOXED AGAINST CHAMPION CRACKING HIS RIBS

In 'Marvel-Two-In-One Annual' (1982) #7, Thing boxes with Champion for the fate of Earth.
In JLA: Paradise Lost (1998) #3, Martian Manhunter regenerates from a near death experience.

Amazingly, Thing starred in a classic fate of the world story. In Marvel-Two-In-One Annual (1982) #7, Champion makes his first appearance in Marvel continuity. Indeed, Champion has come to Earth for destruction. As an Elder of the Universe, he hosts a boxing competition for the fate of the world.

At CBR.com, Brian Cronin lists the rules of the competition in A Cosmic Being Slowly Realizes That He’ll Never Truly Defeat the Thing. As a result, multiple heroes are disqualified. Only Sasquatch, Colossus, Wonder Man and Thing represent Earth.

Among them, only Thing manages to make a stand. In fact, he lasts against Champion till the third round. During the match, Thing breaks Champion’s ribs. At the end, Champion is victorious in the third round. However, impressed by Thing’s spirit, he decides not to destroy Earth.

And considering Champion once destroyed a planet by jumping several feet in the air and stomping it. Definitely, a feat of Planetary-Level Super Strength.

2. THING TRANSPORTED A BOMB ALONG EGO THE LIVING PLANET TO ITS BRAIN

In 'Fantastic Four' (1981) #235, The Thing carries a bomb from the surface of Ego the living planet to its brain, enduring immense heat and pressure.
In Fantastic Four (1981) #235, The Thing carries a bomb from the surface of Ego the living planet to its brain, enduring immense heat and pressure. Marvel Comics.

Perhaps, one of Thing’s most popular feat. In fact, both a feat of super strength and durability. In Fantastic Four (1981) #235, The Thing carries a bomb from the surface of Ego the living planet to its brain. So doing, Thing endures immense heat and pressure.

And considering Ego is a cosmic being who has tangled with Galactus and Silver Surfer. Since Thing had to climb the planet’s anatomy, this is definitely a Planetary-Level feat.

1. THING WITHSTOOD, PUSHED BACK AND CRUSHED THE HYDRAULO-PRESS.

In 'Fantastic Four' (1969) #92, Ben withstood, pushed back and crushed the Hydraulo-Press.
In Fantastic Four (1969) #92, Ben withstood, pushed back and crushed the Hydraulo-Press. Marvel Comics.

Definitely, Thing’s number one feat. In Fantastic Four (1969) #92, the Skrulls used the Hydraulo-Press against Thing. Powerfully, the weapon could bench press a planet. Dangerously, the Skrulls pressed the weapon down on Thing. Incredibly, Ben withstood, pushed back and crushed it.

And considering the force involved, Thing had to bench press a planet. Definitely, a feat requiring more than 5.972 × 1024 kg, the mass of the Earth.

Fan Theory: Following “King In Black”, Maker Might Conquer Eddie And Dylan Brock To Restore The Ultimate Universe

In 'Venom' (2021) #200, Eddie Brock reveals Maker is a multiversal anomaly.

IN UNIVERSAL AND MULTIVERSAL ANOMALIES

MAKER’S ORIGIN STORY

In the “Ultimatum” event, Magneto creates cataclysmic events on Earth-1610. Previously, Hawkeye‘s assassination attempt on Magneto was thwarted at the cost of Quicksilver’s life. Indeed, in retaliation for the deaths of his children, Wanda and Pietro. Using Thor’s Mjolnir, Magneto shifted the planet’s magnetic poles. As a result of the cataclysms, millions died including several Ultimate heroes.

In order to regain a sense of normalcy, Reed Richards proposed to Invisible Woman. However, Sue rejected his proposal. In ‘Ultimate Comics Ultimates’ (2013) #30, Reed’s descent towards Maker is evident. A week after the Ultimatum, Kang the Conqueror visited Reed from the future. Shockingly, Kang revealed herself as Sue Storm. Incredibly, she commissioned Reed to gather the Infinity Gauntlet. In short, she wanted to prevent the end of the Ultimate Universe. In the end, the path would lead to Mister Fantastic becoming the Maker.

AFTER “KING IN BLACK,” MAKER IS A MULTIVERSAL ANOMALY

In “Venom” (2021) #200, Eddie Brock is adjusting to being the new King in Black. As the God of the Symbiotes, Eddie can control all the symbiotes. Really, all that ever existed and he can see through them. In fact, he can pilot them to multiples places at the same time. Moreover, his omniscience allows him to see Knull’s first war against the God of Light. Curiously, Eddie speculates he may be able to travel through the timestream and alter history.

Nevertheless, the only being that has ecaped his omniscience is Maker. In ‘Venom’ (2020) #26, Maker had successfully created an artificial symbiote. To this end, he had used an Earth-616 symbiote. Sinisterly, he had planned to travel to the Ultimate Universe. However, his plan was foiled by a man in an Iron Man-esque armor. Finally, Maker was transported to the Ultimate Universe through a dimensional rift. In a sense, he became a multiversal anomaly.

IN ORDER TO JOIN THE COUNCIL OF REEDS, MAKER MIGHT CONQUER EDDIE AND DYLAN BROCK

In ‘Venom’ (2021) #200, Eddie appears at multiple locations in the Marvel Universe. Seriously, he warns the different heroes of Maker’s master plan. Ultimately, Maker seeks to join the Council of Reeds. Ironically, all members of the Council come from stable universes. Decisively, they have tasked Maker to restore the Ultimate Universe. Ultimately, it is the condition before he can join.

As Eddie reveals, Maker’s plan likely involves erasing the Marvel Universe. On top, he would rebuild the Ultimate Universe. Initially, his work for the Council is under the code name “Project Oversight.” Historically, Maker was interested in symbiotes for dimensional travel. Logically, Eddie and Dylan would be his targets. Perhaps, he would raise his own army of synthetic symbiotes.

Invisible Woman is one of the Marvel powerhouses. To boot, her power extends to the Galaxy Level. Her main super power is the power to create force fields or force field bubbles. She has created force fields to withstand blows from Luke Cage, or to restrain Absorbing Man. In ‘Fantastic Four Unlimited’ (1993) #3, Invisible Woman proved why she is one of the most powerful members of the Fantastic Four.

In a scientific expedition to the Negative Zone, the Fantastic Four, Blastaar and Annihilus ended up inside a vortex or black hole. The team was protected by Annihilus’ cosmic control rod and Blastaar’s helmet. As they were being sucked into the vortex by its distortion waves, their tech starting wearing off and Reed started fearing for their lives. At that moment, Sue came to their rescue and created a force field inside the black hole. Thus, she proved why her power may be without limit!

Let’s list down Sue Storm’s five most fantastic super powers.

INVISIBLE WOMAN’S FIVE FANTASTIC SUPER POWERS

PSIONIC FORCE FIELDS

In ‘Fantastic Four’ (1986) #286, the Avengers have recovered a strange capsule from Jamaica Bay containing life. During the night, as Captain America and Mister Fantastic are studying it, the capsule begins levitating. A young girl steps out and levitates the Avengers and Fantastic Four pinning them to the ceiling. She thinks they are Steven Lang’s duplicates. Invisible Woman arrives and takes her down. As the girl attempts her telekinesis on Invisible Woman, Sue blocks it with force fields. She frees the others from the X-Man’s control. Later, they find out the young girl is the X-Man Marvel Girl, long missing for years.

INVISIBILITY

Perhaps, Invisible Woman’s most famous super power is the ability to turn herself and other objects and persons invisible. Susan is able to manipulate ambient cosmic energy for a variety of effects. In ‘Silver Surfer’ (1987) #15, Invisible Woman has to trade the Silver Surfer’s life in exchange for the Soul Gems. She shoots him with an invisible gun before he can react.

COSMIC RAY AWARENESS

In 'Fantastic Four' (2002) #62, Invisible Woman can see cosmic rays.

Invisible Woman has a form of cosmic awareness. In ‘Fantastic Four’ (2002) #62, Sue has turned Reed invisible so that he can work undetected in Times Square, New York. As Reed is working on mathematical equations, Sue asks him how it is possible for her to see him while he is invisible.

Cosmic Ray Awareness: Sue’s retina are able to detect cosmic rays as well as visible light. This allows her to perceive her own force fields and other invisible objects and, with concentration, can also provide her with a limited form of vision, allowing her to “see” even if blinded.

FANTASTIC FOUR POWER SYNERGISM

Oddly, Invisible Woman shares a super power with the Fantastic Four. In ‘Marvel 2-In-One’ (2018) #3, Reed Richards sends Thing and the Human Torch a message that he needs help as he is in danger in another universe. However, Human Torch has been experiencing some power loss and needs help. Then, Thing takes him to see Hercules who requested assistance from Zeus deprived him of his godly super powers. Surely, Surely, Hercules takes them to see Rachna Koul, a scientist that helps superheroes and supervillains with super power issues for money. Rachna tells them that the Fanastic Four have a super power synergism and the farther away they are from each other, the more they will lose their super powers.

Fantastic Four Power Synergism: The original members of the Fantastic Four are tethered to each other, and act as as their own conduits of power. They can be apart within their own universe and retain a connection, but prolonged periods cut off from each other in other universes result in a gradual decline in power levels. If they spend too much time separated this way, they would eventually become powerless.

Super Power: The Human Torch’s Nova Flame

SUPER POWER

The Human Torch.
The Human Torch.

THE HUMAN TORCH’S NOVA FLAME

Today, we take a look at the nova flame. The Human Torch is a member of the Fantastic Four. Following upon an exposure to cosmic radiation in space, a team of scientists were imbued with fantastic powers: Johnny Storm became The Human Torch, Sue Storm became Invisible Woman, Reed Richards became Mr. Fantastic, and Ben Grimm became The Thing!

Read on!

Nova Flame: The Torch refers to his highest, hottest levels of plasma that he can create as his “nova flame.” The exact temperatures that his “nova flame” can attain are not known. At an average rate of expenditure of energy, the Torch can stay aflame for about 16.8 hours. In his younger days, he could only maintain his flame for much briefer periods, and sometimes exhausted it while in combat. He cannot maintain his “nova flame” for as long a time as he can maintain his ordinary flame. The Torch can release all of his body’s stored energy in one intense, omni-directional “nova-burst,” which can reach about 1,000,000 F, and which is similar to the heat-pulse of a nuclear warhead detonation, with an area of total devastation of about 900 feet in diameter and the power of a super nova. (The Torch has claimed that he can destroy a small moon with his nova-flame.) This violent discharge uses his entire reserve of energy (except for the necessary to keep him alive) at once, entirely exhausting his flame power. He generally requires at least 12 hours to recover entirely from such a feat.”

Jonathan Storm (Earth-616), Marvel Database

The nova flame is The Human Torch’s most potent super power. It allows him to take on threats of a cosmic scale, such as destroy asteroids!
