To begin, the art is modern age manga. The artist on the volume is Yusuke Murata. With writer ONE, Chapter 1 begins One-Punch Man’s adventures. In the story, the artist’s pencils with exaggerated physiques and black and white backgrounds in full coloring make the manga a true present.
Certainly, the coloring matches the epic and superhero tone of the story with typical manga style and close-ups. In addition, the inking is a highlight in this issue. And the exaggerated pencils of the battles create the sense of pastiche and parody. Notably, the character’s youthful appearance and expressive physiques have added comedy. Nevertheless, the comic excels at action and the panel on the left shows the artist’s mastery!
