Best DC Comics Artists
To begin, the art is pure Dan Jurgens. The artist, writer, creator rose to fame with his incredible work on Superman in the 1990s and with the soft revamp Zero Hour. In Superman/Doomsday: Hunter/Prey, Jurgens’ curvy lines and strong musculature create kinetic panels with illustrated colors.
Though Jurgens’ art may seem exaggerated, in the mini-series, the artist improves on perspective and propotion, his characters are all distinctive and come to life with powerful facial expressions. And Gregory Wright’s coloring is masterful art that adds layers of illustration for a SCI-FI atmosphere in the backgrounds of Apokolips.
