This February 25th, in Marvel history, we celebrate the first appearance of Dakota North in Dakota North (1986) #1.
DAKOTA NORTH MAKES HER FIRST APPEARANCE
In the very fine Dakota North (1986) #1 writer Martha Thomases and artist Tony Salmons debut Dakota North. In a thriller story for the Book of the Month contender, Dakota must guard a fashion designer and his designs. During the issue, her brother Richard North and NYPD detective Amos Culhane make their first appearances. According to Comichron, neither Diamond nor Capital published monthly sales reports in 1986 till June 1987.

ALVIN HOLLINGSWORTH’S BIRTHDAY

In Black History Month, the late Alvin Hollingsworth was born today. Among the first African American artists, he worked for Atlas Comics (now Marvel Comics), and Fox Features. Importantly, he created and co-created multiple characters among The Puppeteer. Moreover, The Puppeteer debuted in All Top Comics (1944).
