After Crisis On Infinite Earths, a new single DC Universe is created. In History of the DC Universe, Harbinger gathers data on the Monitor’s files in order to tell its history. In the beginning, a single universe was created. When the universe was young, the earliest race was the Maltusians. These tall, blue-skinned beings lived on Oa and soon mastered science. With their civilization, they studied the universe. According to legend, no one could behold the beginning of the universe.
Or else, calamity would follow. A daring and defiant scientist, Krona defied the legends. With his powerful machine, he peered back in time. Then, he showed his discovery to the Maltusians. On that day, calamity ensued and Krona was struck by a lightning bolt. Dramatically, the accident created the anti-matter universe opposite to the positive matter universe. And the multiverse was born. With the birth of the multiverse, evil entered the DC universe.

Perhaps, you have watched the animated movie called Green Lantern: Emerald Knight. In DC comics continuity, Krona is banished. Soon, he drifts to Nekron’s realm of the dead. There, he is recruited into Death‘s army which seeks to destroy then recreate the universe. Indeed, Krona welcomes it as an opportunity to study the destruction and the creation of the universe.
Then, Nekron sends Krona and his army of the undead to kill the Guardians of the Universe and the Green Lantern Corps. Violently, the army of the unliving succeeds in killing several Guardians, the Green Lanterns even destroying the Central Power Battery. However, Hal Jordan, the greatest GL rallies the force. Together, they manage to stop Krona and send him back to the realm of the dead.
In JLA/Avengers, Krona threatens the Omniverse. Dangerously, his quest takes him to the Marvel Universe. There, he engages in a game with the Grandmaster. The JLA and the Avengers must gather items of power for Grandmaster and Krona. And the winner must either claim the items or seek the answer of the beginning from Galactus. When the JLA wins the contest 7-5, Grandmaster wins. Though he collects the items of power, Krona betrays him.
By force, he summons Galactus and beats him in order to discover the secret. In the Marvel Universe, only Galan has survived the destruction of the previous universe. In a cosmic egg, he is shaped by Phoenix into Galactus during the birth of the Earth-616 universe. Ultimately, the heroes band together and triumph. In the end, Krona is transformed into a cosmic egg destined to create a new universe.

Previously, in Fantastic Four (2018) #1, we learn the origin story of Victorious.
Courageously, Zora Lukovic inspired Doctor Doom to end his self-exile and reclaim Latveria.
To recompense, Doctor Doom imbued her with the Power Cosmic. Then, Victorious was born.
In reality, Doom’s plan was to lure Galactus to Earth.
In Fantastic Four (2019) #6, Galactus heads straight to Latveria to consume Earth.
During the invasion, Doom’s massive hologram warns Earth of Galactus’ arrival.
Then, he warns that only Doom would deal with the threat. When the FF intercept the broadcast, they head for Latveria.

In Fantastic Four #7, the Fantastic Four help Doom defeat Galactus. Previously, Doom sent Victorious to deal with the FF.
During the battle, Victorious defeats the Human Torch. However, at Doomstadt Doctor Doom proves no match for Galactus.
Then, he re-directs the Devourer of Worlds to Mount Doom. There, his hunger is drawn to Victorious’ Power Cosmic.
As the hungry Galactus feeds on her energies Doom fires his Big Bang Cannons.
After, Torch goes supernova and Mister Fantastic tricks him, the FF defeat Galactus.
And using the Big Bang Cannons, the monarch alters the cosmic being’s molecular structure.
Then, he phases Galactus into Mount Doom. In a hacked televised broadcast, Doom announces his victory.
Gloriously, he promises a new age of clean energy for the world powered by the Devourer.
Finally, he captures the FF and sentences them to death for violating his nation’s sovereignty.

In our new hotness, we have The Formidable Warriors List. Here, we cover the greatest battles of a particular character in a comic or series, and how it made it a best-seller. In our new hotness for January, is Adam Warlock in Warlock and The Infinity Watch (1991) #1.
First, let’s reveal a poll on Twitter. Then, let’s show how it was a success.
Then, Eternity presents his case detailing Warlock’s creation, character evolution, his sado-masochistic tendencies as well as his darkest secret. After he has finished his suit, the powerful stand-off of unimaginable might between two omnipotent beings follows!
Certainly, you will have to read the issue to see how it ends. However, the first issue does set the tone for the run and does reveal the creative team’s ambitions. Definitely, the stand-off between Adam Warlock and the Living Tribunal sold fans on the series.
On the footsteps of Infinity Gauntlet, anticipation for the Jim Starlin and Angel Medina run was high. Particularly, the creative team released 42 issues for the series that ran from December 1991 to July 1995.
Though mostly with B-list and C-list characters, the series was among the best sellers in 1992. According to Comichron, Warlock and the Infinity Watch (1991) #1, ranked 41 in sales in December 1991.
Though not one of the most popular comics, it was nonetheless successful in 1992, holding spots in the Top 300 for the year.
Let’s rank Warlock’s formidability with the Infinity Gauntlet.
For the most part, Adam Warlock shares the same physicals as Thanos with the IG. In fact, he possesses Infinite super-strength. At the same time, Eternity’s suit contends his weakness is his mental unstability.
In reality, Eternity is referring to Adam being an artificial being with no experience with human emotion. Despite his power, his emotions let him lose control in the Star Chamber.
However, Adam’s mysticism allows him to overcome Thanos’ power dependency. Thanks to his link to the Soul Gem, Warlock was able to take control of the IG at the end of Infinity Gauntlet.
For that reason, willpower or mind is properly his limitation. And in that sense, he is more formidable with the IG than Thanos. Certainly, his quality opponent in the first issue is Living Tribunal who is a God or Abstract.
Definitely, collect this cosmic doo-wop comic in single issues or paperback in comic format.

In our short-story of love, passion, destruction and extinction, we begin with Uatu in the Earth-616 universe. To begin, the Watcher ponders the Phoenix's journey with the X-Men. In his musings, he contemplates an alternate reality... Here, Phoenix did not die! Instead, the X-Men lost their battle against the Shi'ar and the Phoenix Force was psychically lobotomized from Jean Grey. But in reality, this was further from the truth. On a fateful day, the X-Men were called into battle by Lilandra. On the alien planet Arama, our children of the atom were to face Galactus trying to consume the planet... and his herald Terrax! A fierce battle followed during which Terrax struck down the X-Men, even threatening Cyclops. At that moment, we realized that the Phoenix had been laying dormant. Violently, she emerged and removed the Power Cosmic from Terrax. Then, she valiantly engaged Galactus in combat. Soon, she defeated him and repelled his invasion. However, Jean is overwhelmed by the fury and the passion of the Phoenix. A cosmic fiery bird of death and rebirth, Phoenix destroyed asteroids and consumed a star. Eventually, the X-Men returned to Earth. When Shadowcat berated Jean for losing control, the telepath killed her. Soon, Dark Phoenix destroyed the X-Men one by one. Finally, the death of her lover, Cyclops, was the last straw. In a fit of rage, folly and cosmic madness, the fiery bird consumed Earth, then the galaxy, and finally, the universe and beyond. Here ends the story of the Phoenix which should serve as a cautionary tale to not let this fiery cosmic bird to reign unimpeded in the cosmos.

In the Marvel Universe, no being was more feared than Galactus. Recently, he met his timely end at the hands of Thor, in Devourer King. When King Thor became Galactus’ Herald, he was imbued with the Power Cosmic. Namely, Galactus possesses this reservoir of ambient, cosmic energy at an incalculable level. In fact, Galactus’ possession of the Power Cosmic makes him a cosmic entity on par with Eternity, the embodiment of the Marvel Universe. There are other reservoirs of power as well such as the Power Primordial which powers the Elders of the Universe.
Incredibly, Galactus possesses the Power Cosmic at a Universal Level with the potential to create or destroy the Marvel Universe. Definitely, such power is god-like and explains why the Devourer of Worlds eats planets. If the Star-God’s catalogue of super powers is endless, let’s examine his durability.
In other words, how tough is Galactus, when fed and when hungry?
![]() |
In The Galactus Trilogy, Earth-616 is threatened by Galactus for the first time. Somberly, Silver Surfer arrives to announce the end of the world. When Galactus comes to Earth, he clashes with the Fantastic Four. Meanwhile, Silver Surfer meets Alicia Masters. Fortunately, she convinces Norrin to turn against his master. Together, the FF and Silver Surfer are aided by Uatu the Watcher in their battle. When Human Torch retrieves the Ultimate Nullifier from Taa II at Watcher’s directions, the tide changes. In possession of the Ultimate Nullifier, Mister Fantastic threatens Galactus with annihilation unless he leaves.
Since the UN is an artifact on Galactus’ solar system-sized home, it gives an estimation of his power level. Importantly, the Nullifier can lay waste to a galaxy, and destroy a universe. As a result, Galactus relented his invasion. In terms of durability, this means Galactus is at least Galaxy-Level in Durability and Power Level. However, that is not enough to determine his fed and hungry states.

In Thanos: Redemption (Thanos (2003-2004)), Galactus is manipulated by the cosmic entity named the Hunger. In an attempt to rid himself of his cosmic hunger, Galactus accidentally summons the Hunger into the Earth-616 reality.
Though Thanos finds out about Hunger’s machinations, he fails in stopping Galactus. After the Hunger enters this reality, Thanos brings in the big guns! Powerfully, the mad Titan teleports old Rigel-3 into Rigel-18’s orbit. On a collision course, both planets slam onto each other in a cosmic conflagration. In between, Galactus and Hunger are caught in the collision. Incredibly, Galactus survives.
Previously, Hunger had severely weakened Galactus who was in a hungry state. If we estimate Galactus’ durability feat, we can make a comparison. In fact, if we collide two planets the size of Earth at orbital velocity, the work done is at least Stellar-Level in Energy Projection. Indeed, a hungry Galactus is at least Stellar-Level in Durability.

In The Last Galactus Story: Chapter Seven (1985), Galactus investigates the disappearance of stars in the universe. Interestingly, he traces it to the Milky Way galaxy. Then, a sated Galactus enters the core of the galaxy. Powerfully, Galactus survives the gravitational force at the core of the Milky Way galaxy without any trouble. Definitely, a feat requiring a Galaxy to Universal-Level durability.
In the issue, it is stated that Galactus survived the previous universe’s destruction. If Galactus can survive the forces of entropy, that puts his potential durability as Universal-Level.

In the Marvel Universe, Hulk sits at the top of the powerhouses. Indeed, his dynamic strength, gamma radiation physiology, regeneration and unlimited strength make him the strongest hero. Visit our article on THE Marvel Universe Strength Hierarchy Ranks The Top 10 Heroes And Villains By The Potential For Infinite Strength.
In the massive World War Hulk crossover, Hulk defeated Earth’s powerhouses to conquer the planet. Finally, his rampage was put to an end in battle against Sentry. At the end of the fight, both warriors reverted to their human forms. However, Bruce Banner was the last one standing while Robert Reynolds collapsed. Indeed, proving Hulk is the strongest there is.
However, if strength is one thing, power is quite another. If strength is about raw potential, power is about strength, skill and mastery. Over the years, Hulk has faced foes with overwhelming power who have definitely defeated him. Let’s list heroes and villains who are more powerful than Hulk.
![]() |
In the Marvel Universe, no supervillain is more lustful and proud than Doctor Doom. Generally, Doctor Doom does not want to destroy the world. Really, the Baron of Iron intends to rule.
Despite his unlimited strength, Hulk has weaknesses. Among his weaknesses, is magic. Particularly, Doctor Doom is unique for his union of science and sorcery. In fact, he is a powerful mage who once contended as a runner-up for the title of Sorcerer Supreme.
In a battle, Doctor Doom’s invulnerable Armor, mystic blasts and esoteric powers are more than a match for Hulk’s strength. Furthermore, Doom’s super-genius intelligence can definitely exploit Hulk’s lack of intelligence.
In Incredible Hulk (2011) #7, Doctor Doom defeats Perfect Hulk. In the issue, Doom separated Hulk from Bruce Banner creating Perfect Hulk. Later, Hulk returns blaming Doom for the Behemoth having killed Bruce Banner. Soon, a fight follows. Though short-lived, it highlights Doctor Doom’s magic and intelligence advantages.
Definitely, Doctor Doom ranks among the most powerful beings in the Marvel Universe.

Over the years, Thor and Hulk have been considered rivals. Though, Hulk has often been considered the strongest Avenger. At IGN, Jesse Schedeen argues Thor Just Managed to Kill [Spoiler], Proving He Actually Is the Strongest Avenger.
In 2020, Cosmic King Thor dramatically outclassed the competition. During Donny Cates’ run, titled Devourer King, King Thor becomes Cosmic King Thor, Herald of Galactus. To begin, Galactus and Silver Surfer come to Asgard to warn of the Black Winter. To stop it, Thor agrees to become Galactus’ Herald.
However, it comes at a cost. To prepare for the calamity, Thor helps Galactus consume five planets. Finally, the Black Winter arrives. After testing Thor, it reveals the King dreadful visions of the future. In the end, Thor realizes that he must fulfill Galactus’ prophecy: he is the one to kill Galactus. In one powerful blast, Thor throws his hammer at the Star God, incinerating him immediately.
And considering Thor’s godblast is Universal-Level and a fully-fed Galactus can withstand the core of a galaxy. Definitely, at least a Universal-Level of Energy Projection.
Without a doubt, Hulk has the potential for Infinite Super Strength. Though, Thor’s energy projection can deal some serious damage. In a battle, it is a matter of whether Hulk can withstand a Universe-busting attack from Thor.

To this day, Annihilation Silver Surfer is the most popular version of the character. For good measure. During the Annihilation event, Silver Surfer and the United Front fight off an invasion from the Negative Zone. To this end, Annihilus aided by Thanos, has imprisoned Galactus to use as a bomb.
In order to face this crisis, Galactus increases Surfer’s power. Though, he tampers with his personality. Back to active service, Silver Surfer becomes a challenger to even Thor post-Annihilation.
Amazingly, one of the Sentinel’s most well-known feats during Annihilation, is his fight against two Proemial Gods. Notably, Proemial Gods derive their powers from the Big Crunch, the end of the universe.
In Annihilation: Heralds of Galactus (2007) #2, Silver Surfer defeats Tenebrous and Aegis. Initially, no match for the two gods, Silver Surfer lays in space badly wounded. Then, he elects to absorb the energies of the Big Crunch. Soon, he fells his foes. Fortunately, Galactus arrives and heals Surfer who is near death.
In the Marvel Universe, Silver Surfer is one of the top energy manipulators. Over the years, Silver Surfer has dominated Hulk in battles. Using the Power Cosmic, the Silver Surfer has often tampered with Hulk’s rage. In effect, calming the monster and reverting him to Bruce Banner.

At Marvel, there have been many Marvel Supermen versions: Hyperion, Blue Marvel, Gladiator and even Sentry. Among them, Sentry has been the most successful. Perhaps, the most powerful Marvel Superman.
What makes Sentry tick is the fact that he is mentally unstable with the overwhelming power of a god. In fact, he has been stated to possess the power of a million exploding suns.
In World War Hulk, Sentry clashed with Hulk’s most powerful version. What resulted, was a thrilling fight with planet-busting punches and a tornado of searing energy blasts. Both characters went all-out. And at the end, only Bruce Banner was left standing.
However, that was not Sentry’s most powerful version. In Siege (2010) #4, Thor and the Avengers faced Void Sentry. As Void Sentry, Robert Reynolds is an abstract being of horrifying power. Moreover, the entity literally thrashed the entire Avengers team. Indeed, only the power of a god – a Thunder God – is able to conquer him. Proving that when push comes to shove, Thor and Sentry rank ahead of Hulk in terms of power.
