FROM THE UNIVERSE’S OLDER RACES, THE WATCHERS SWORE TO OBSERVE

During the Silver Age, Marvel Comics introduced The Watcher in “The World’s Greatest Comic Magazine!” In Fantastic Four (1963) #13, the Fantastic Four are on a mission to the Blue Area of the moon. In the issue, Mister Fantastic experiments on a rocket fragment.
Then, he decides to travel by rocket to the Blue Area of the moon where the fragment came. However, a Russian scientist in the Soviet Union named Ivan Kragoff, is on a mission to the moon. In fact, he has selected his three apes with him, Igor, Piotr and Miklho in order to replicate the Fantastic Four’s powers.
Predictably, the mission succeeds and the villains are granted super powers from cosmic rays. On the moon, the Fantastic Four and Ivan’s team battle. However, the clash is cut short by the first appearance of the Watcher.
After Claiming the Blue Area as his home, he reveals his race’s vow to not interfere in the affairs of alien races and banishes both teams to the ruined city where they battle for superiority.
Forward into the Modern Age, we learn the origin of the race of Watchers’ vow. In the early beginnings of the universe, the Watchers were a technologically advanced and benevolent race. In order to help the planet Prosilicus, Ikor proposed to bring nuclear power to the Prosilican race.
Tragically, the technology led to nuclear warfare and auto-genocide on Prosilicus. Horrified at the Prosilican incident, Ikor created a code of ethics for the race. Now known as the Watchers, the cosmic gods would observe and not interfere.
In terms of powers, Uatu has been said to be powerful enough to shake a galaxy. Really, the Watcher is a cosmic god who can manipulate cosmic energy on an incalculable scale. As matter of fact, he has been stated to resist the telepathic probes of Galactus, the Destroyer of Worlds.
Furthermore, in Super-Villain Classics (1983) #1, we learn Galactus’ origin story. After the destruction of the previous universe, the Sentience of the Universe protected Galan in a Cosmic Egg. With the birth of the Seventh Cosmos, or Earth-616 universe, Galactus came out of gestation.
In the early universe, the Watchers were among the oldest races. Ecce the Watcher observed the Star God’s emergence and sensed his evil and Cosmic Hunger. In fact, he was powerful enough to kill him. But, sworn to not interfere, he let Galactus depart in his starship.
Like Ecce, Uatu probably is powerful enough to kill a hungry or young Galactus. Notably, Uatu possesses the powers of telepathy, energy manipulation, teleportation, time travel, cosmic awareness, force field generation, flight and immortality on a Multiversal scale.

By now, Marvel-ites have watched the hit TV show called What If…? on Disney+. In fact, there is a popular battle between an alternate Ultron with The Infinity Stones and the Watcher. Nonetheless, the show is based on the successful Marvel series called What If?
Astoundingly, issues #23 to #31 of the series, showcase short stories by Watcher. Each short story exhibits the Watcher’s nigh-omniscience and his ability to see parallel universes of alternate timelines. In fact, in every issue, the Watcher introduces the short story as he addresses the reader.
Incredibly, this power is called Breaking The Fourth Wall. Here, a comic character or literature character is aware of being part of a story or addresses the reader and audience. Really, this super power suggests the Watcher is an Outerversal being.
UATU KNEW ABOUT THE ULTIMATE NULLIFIER TO STOP GALACTUS

In The Galactus Trilogy, Watcher helps the Fantastic Four to stop Galactus. As matter of fact, the cosmic god revealed the heroes knowledge about Galactus’ homeworld, Taa II.
Importantly, Uatu knew the only way to stop the Devourer of Worlds was with an advanced technology from the solar system-sized homeworld. Namely, the Ultimate Nullifier.
In the battle Fantastic Four vs Galactus, the super-team was able to stop the end of the world and have Galactus depart with Uatu’s help.

In What If?, Uatu addresses the Marvel-ite reader and tells him a short story. Each story is about an alternate timeline in a parallel Marvel universe.
Really, the fact the Watcher can address the reader shows he #BreaksTheFourthWall. In literature, this is the greatest power. Also, Thought Robot Superman shares this power.

Generally, the What If? series is about Watcher seeing alternate timelines in the Marvel multiverse and telling the stories to the reader.
Indeed, the Watcher has a Cosmic Awareness that extends to the Multiversal scale. Perhaps, an extension of his time travel powers.
Impressively, Watcher has been stated to have the power to shake a galaxy. In Tales of Suspense (1964) #55, Xakku the Sun-Stealer calls him the most powerful being in the galaxy.
To test his vow, Xakku tells him that the sun near his planet is dying out. With his Sun-Stealer, he plans to steal the sun in Uatu’s solar system. After he asks Uatu if he will intervene.
In a whimsical play of events, Xakku’s nefarious plan is foiled when his starship falls into quicksand before it lands on Earth, saving the planet.
