Feat: Superman, ‘Justice League’ Vol 4 #25

IN COSMIC HIERARCHY

SUPERMAN (CLARK KENT)
PRIME EARTH

In Justice League (2019) #25, titled “The Sixth Dimension! Conclusion,” Superman performs a super strength feat. In a battle against the World Forger, Superman sundips then breaches the Sixth Dimension and shatters the Forger’s Multiverse creation with a dimension-shattering punch.

How much super strength does it take for Superman to shatter the World Forger’s Multiverse creation with a dimension-shattering punch?

SUPERMAN SUNDIPPED TO TIME TRAVEL AS A WAVE FUNCTION 20 BILLION YEARS TO THE BIG BANG IN THE SIXTH DIMENSION TO DESTROY THE WORLD FORGER’S MULTIVERSE.

SUPERMAN HAD TO GENERATE AN INFINITE AMOUNT OF ENERGY FROM HIS DIMENSION-SHATTERING PUNCH, IN ORDER TO DESTROY THE 19.7265937 BILLION LIGHT YEARS MULTIVERSE CREATED BY THE WORLD FORGER.

SUPER STRENGTH FEAT:

MULTIVERSAL

For more DC feats, visit the DC Power Levels page!

Superman travels faster than light from his prison on Prime Earth to the Sixth Dimension. Superman travels so fast that he becomes a line where all timelines are present to him and he arrives at the time of a new Big Bang. Superman destroys the World Forger’s Sixth Dimension Multiverse creation with a dimension-shattering punch.

We will use string theory to calculate the energy necessary to travel to the Sixth Dimension according to the Many-Worlds Interpretation. Please Toggle the Toggle Arrow below to see the calculations.

NUMBER CRUNCHING

In order to calculate the energy necessary to travel to the Sixth Dimension, we must calculate the universal wavefunction interpretation of string theory. According to Justice League (2019) #22, the multiverse created by Perpetua and her three beings is 20 billion years old. We can assume the World Forger in the Sixth Dimension created the Multiverse with a Big Bang 20 billions years old. In order to dimension travel to the Sixth Dimension, Superman had to travel faster than light 20 billion years old into the past of the DC Universe. For all intents and purposes, we can assume Superman travelled at the speed of light. The equation to calculate the wave function is below:

ψ(L,T) = exp(i ʃ0Tdτ ʃ0 Ldσ/lptp) ψ(0,0).

Integrating the double integral we obtain the integral of the inside function first:

ψ(L,T) = exp(i ʃ0Tdτ (σ/lptp)|0 1.8662410^26 = exp(i ʃ0Tdτ (1.8662410^26 m)/(1.616*10^-35 m * 5.39*10^-44 s).

Then we obtain the integral of the outside function.

ψ(L,T) = exp(i ʃ0 9.331210^15 (τ)(2.142582e+104 s^-1) = exp(9.331210^15 s)(2.142582e+104 s^-1) = ∞.

We get an infinite amount of energy.

SUPER-STRENGTH

Superman generated an infinite amount of energy in order to become a wave function at the Planck scale and time travel to the Sixth Dimension.

Superman had to generate a Multiversal Level of Super Strength since he essentially hit the World Forger’s Multiverse with an infinite amount of energy from time travel to the Big Bang.

Toggle the Toggle Arrow below to view the calculations.

Calculations for Superman, ‘Justice League’ #25

ψ(L,T) = exp(i ʃ0Tdτ ʃ0 Ldσ/lptp) ψ(0,0).
Planck length = lp = 1.616*10^-35 m.
Planck time = tp = 5.39*10^-44 s.
T = age of causal horizon = (20*10^9 years)(12 months*30 days*24 hr*3600 s) = 9.3312*10^15 s
L = length of causal horizon = vt = (3*10^8 m/s)(9.3312*10^15 s) = 1.86624*10^26 m = 19.7265937*10^9 light years.

ψ(L,T) = exp(i ʃ0Tdτ (σ/lptp)|0 1.86624*10^26 = exp(i ʃ0Tdτ (1.86624*10^26 m)/(1.616*10^-35 m * 5.39*10^-44 s) = exp(i ʃ0Tdτ (2.142582e+104 s^-1) = exp(i ʃ0 9.3312*10^15 (τ)(2.142582e+104 s^-1) = exp(9.3312*10^15 s)(2.142582e+104 s^-1) = ∞.

THE CANCELLED NEW GODS MOVIE

Originally, Director Ava Duvernay and Mister Miracle writer Tom King co-wrote the script for the movie. In fact, the New Gods movie had begun filming. In 2021, New Gods was removed from the DC Extended Universe film slate with little explanation.

In our Reading Guide, we show why the Kirby-created franchise is space opera and can take the DC Extended Universe to the next level. Here is our New Gods chronology since their first appearance in 1970 containing the mainstream continuity titles.

DARKSEID’S FIRST APPEARANCE (1970)

*Collect Superman’s Pal, Jimmy Olsen #133-152.

Before debuting the New Gods, legendary writer and artist Jack Kirby introduced new characters to the series Superman’s Pal, Jimmy Olsen called the Newsboys Legion. At the head was Morgan Edge, who headed Galaxy Broadcasting System, owned the Daily Planet where Jimmy Olsen and Clark Kent worked. Secretly, he operated a criminal organization called Inter-gang. In order to get rid of both Clark and Jimmy, he sent Jimmy on an assignment to uncover the secrets of the Mountain of Judgment.

Namely, Jimmy and The Newboys, filmed their journey through the Zoomway. Indeed, they discovered that the Mountain of Judgment was actually a gargatuan space vehicle. There, they discovered a scientific society called the Hairies led by a man called Jude. Fortunately, the Newsboys discovered that Morgan Edge planted alpha-bombs in their cameras to destroy the Hairies. And he was doing so in service of his alien master, Darkseid. Though the plan failed.

In reality, the Hairies were not New Gods. Instead, they were genetically modified humans by a secret government organization called the DNA Project. Indeed, it was run by the original Newsboy Legion, who were the parents of the current Newsboys. The Project had mastered the human genome and could clone humans from cells. In Post-Crisis Continnuity, The DNA Project was used under the name of the Cadmus Project.

THE NEW GODS (1971-72)

*Collect New Gods #1-11.

In 1971, New Gods debuted. In the first issue, Jack Kirby introduced the New God Orion, who with his friend Lightray came from the paradise New Genesis. Together, they lived on the hovering city called Supertown where Highfather, in contact with the Source received messages on the wall.

The Source prophesied that in order for Orion to stop Darkseid’s quest for the Anti-Life Equation, he had to journey to Apokolips then to Earth. On Apokolips, Orion found four people whom Darkseid believed held a fragment of the Anti-Life Equation. He freed them, then returned them to Earth. On his travels to Earth, Darkseid used Mother Box to hide his face and adopt a civilian identity called O’Ryan.

Originally, the war between New Genesis and Apokolips started when Darkseid’s uncle, Steppenwolf, murdered Avia, Izaya’s wife. In retaliation, the ruler of New Genesis invaded Apokolips which was ruled by Queen Heggra, Darkseid’s mother. In the shadows, Darkseid gave Metron Element X so that he would assist. In return, Metron created the Boom Tube which Darkseid used to teleport to Apokolips. Desperate, Izaya pled and the Source evolved him into Highfather. Then, a truce was made where both rulers would exchange their sons, Scott Free and Orion.

LEGENDS (1986)

*Collect Legends #1-6, Superman #3, Adventures of Superman #426, Action Comics #586, Action Comics #592-593, Action Comics #600, Justice League #1–42, Superman v.2 Annual #2.

After the Crisis On Infinite Earths reboot, John Ostrander and comic legend John Byrne re-launched the New Gods. Though, the New Gods continuity was maintained. In Legends, Darkseid schemes against the heroes of Earth to undermine their credibility. To this end, the God of evil unleashes two monsters from Apokoips, Macro-Man and Brimstone. Prominently, the Justice League launched its high profile series.

In the crossover event, the New Gods begin to feature prominently in Superman titles. Importantly, Darkseid transported Superman to Apokolips with his Omega Effect. There, he was transported to Armagetto where he was an amnesiac though a hero to the Lowlies. Orion and Lightray traveled to Apokolips to rescue Superman who had been indoctrinated by Granny Goodness. With the Mother Box, the sentient computer, Superman was restored. After a fight with Darkseid, Superman managed to outrace th Omega Effect, hitting Darkseid. Then, the Man of Steel was sent back to Earth.

THE NEW GODS (1989-91)

*Collect New Gods v3. #1-28.

In 1989, New Gods debuted its third series. Particularly, it followed the events after the Cosmic Odyssey four-issue limited series. The new series centers on the struggle between New Genesis and the Insect Empire for Supertown’s governing power. In addition, it tells of Apokolips’ attempts to continue its war on Earth. Again, the central protagonist is Orion of NewGenesis.

THE NEW GODS (1995-97)

*Collects New Gods #1-15

Legendary artist and writer John Byrne debuts on New Gods vol. 4. The premise of the series is the end of Darkseid’s quest for the Anti-Life Equation. Now convinced that it does not exist, the ruler of Apokolips seeks to control the Source. After unleashing a wave of darkness across the universe, Darkseid’s plan is foiled by Orion. In an anticipated showdown, Orion heads into space to confront his father. In the Source, the New Gods duel until one final victor emerges: Orion.

Catastrophically, Darkseid’s death sent shockwaves through New Genesis and Apokolips. Indeed, both planets were destabilized by the imbalance between Good and Evil. In order to prevent the unleashing of the Old God S’ivaa, Highfather started a self-imprisonment in an asylum. However, S’ivaa who slumbered in the eternal sea, was free! After he began his dance of universal destruction, Highfather recruited Superman and Orion to hold it off. Successfully, S’ivaa was imprisoned on the Source Wall though Darkseid and Highfather melted in its fire.

JACK KIRBY’S FOURTH WORLD (1997)

*Collect Jack Kirby’s Fourth World #1-8, Genesis #1-4, Jack Kirby’s Fourth World #9-12, Darkseid Villains #1, Jack Kirby’s Fourth World #13-20, New Gods Secret Files #1.

Legendary artist and writer John Byrne created a unified origin story for the New Gods and the Old Gods. In the beginning, there was a First World seedless and ormless. Then, there was a Second World home of the Old Gods. After, the Godwave seeded the universe with divinity and the potential for super powers. Also, there was a Third World where the gods having attained adulthood warred for thousands of years. Then, it exploded into two planets, Apokolips and New Genesis called the Fourth World.

JUSTICE LEAGUE (2011)

*Collect Justice League #1-6.

In 2011, the New 52 re-launch rebooted the DC Universe with 52 parallel universes. For this reason, many characters’ origins were changed while others were removed. In the new origin of the Justice League, Darkseid invades Prime Earth in its first alien invasion with his arm of parademons.

EARTH 2 WORLD’S END (2012)

*Collect Earth 2 #1, #8, #11; World’s Finest #10-26; Earth 2 Annual #1; Earth 2 #14, #15, #15.1, #16, #23, #25, #28; Earth 2 World’s End #1-12.

In 2012, Darkseid continues his conquest of the DC Multiverse. On Earth-2, he sends Steppenwolf to conquer it. There, he finds opposition from Superman though Wonder Woman loves him. On Apokolips, Big Barda falls in love with Scot Free and the two escape. They are randed as traitors. In the battle for Earth-2, Steppenwolf impales Wonder Woman and kills Superman. After the invasion, the Earth is left cratered and Steppenwolf and his armes escape to Earth-0.

JUSTICE LEAGUE: DARKSEID WAR (2015)

In 2015, acclaimed writer Geoff Johns worked on the final storyline of the New 52. Justice League: Darkseid War is a masterful crossover that adds to the New Gods mythology. According to Amazon prophecy, the child of Darkseid and Myrina Black is going to usher a new darkness on Earth. Known as Grail, she summons the Anti-Monitor in order to conquer Earth and kill Darkseid. In his quest for the Anti-Life Equation, Darkseid invades Earth though it leads to fatality. Caught between a godly war, Wonder Woman and the Justice League must save Prime Earth or become gods!

POSITIVE REVIEW

The customer review said: “It’s a synopsis of the crime syndicate, characters and origins, and leads into the Forever evil storyline. So if you feel like you’re missing something between Trinity War and Forever Evil, then get this!”

NEGATIVE REVIEW

There are 7 negative global ratings. One negative customer review pointed the repetitive plot: “What happened, who are these people? Well they are from Trinity war/forever evil. And Johns will tell you the origins of each one as he zzzzz, oh I’m sorry, I just fell asleep waiting for the summary to end. Seriously, summarizing this thing is to much. If you like Johns Blackest night, this is more of the same. You need to collect eight series to get one “story” without any real resolution.”

Overall, this comic was great.

CONCLUSION

This product has 13 global ratings with an average customer review rating of 4.7 out of 5.

One customer review said: “The main writer resigned after one issue- so I’m not sure what’s going on there- maybe some creative differences with others on the book team. The art is great; nice detail but a bit “cartoony” at times. I wonder if any comic artist alive can do a good job with African-american people- I haven’t seen any yet.

This one is worth jumping aboard with, althought the long-term direction is uncertain with the changing creative team. Static is a idea that merits a wider audience.”

There was one negative review. The negative review commented on the price: “I really didn’t want to pay this much finally found #1 #5 #7 #8 on midtown comic website for $2.39 I got 7 and 8 good quality and way cheaper.”

Overall, this comic was great.

LEX LUTHOR WANTS TO JOIN THE JUSTICE LEAGUE

Previously, Jessica Cruz was chosen by the Ring of Volthoom. After the demise of the Criime Syndicate, the Ring wanted her as the new Power Ring. Elsewhere, at Wayne Manor, Lex Luthor confronts Bruce Wayne. Finally, he has deduced that Bruce Wayne is Batman. Before Lex can continue his accusations, Alfred mounts his gun at the criminal’s temple. Quickly, Bruce knocks Lex down. When Lex notices a clock on the wall, he blows it.

Then, the passage to the Batcave appears behind the rubble. In reality, the billionnaire has come to join forces with the Batman. In fact, he believes a threat is coming to Earth. After Batman tells him a modified tale of the scorpion and the frog, Lex departs. Suddenly, Superman and Wonder Woman alert Bruce. In Oregon, a green energy detonation has been detected. Fortunately, the Doom Patrol arrive to help.

THE JUSTICE LEAGUE AND THE DOOM PATROL FIGHT OVER JESSICA’S LOBOTOMY

In Justice League (2014) #33, the Doom Patrol and the Justice League fight. Previously, the Doom Patrol had come to recruit Jessica Cruz. When her powers are out of control, they elect drastic measures. Heroically, Luthor arrives to save the day. In fact, he threatens to blow Chief’s spine out. Meanwhile, the Ring reveals why he chose Jessica. As matter of fact, she is the lone survivor from a murder attempt by two gunmen in the woods. When Jessica realizes it, a big explosion follows.

Strangely, the detonation reaches to Anti-Monitor. Sinisterly, she tells him of Prime Earth. Dangerously, the cosmic being promises to “consume it.”1 As the fight rages, Lex tells Batman his plan. As matter of fact, the Ring of Volthoom works like a power ring: indeed, it works on emotion. If Luthor can use shock therapy on Jessica’s synapses, he can severe her emotional connection. Drastically, Chief favors psycho-surgery, an euphemism for lobotomy.

BATMAN SAVES THE DAY

But Batman saves the day. Courageously, he reaches out to within Jessica’s energy field. Honestly, he tells her he too is a victim. In addition, she should face her fear. Instead of fearing the darkness, she should embrace it. Reassuringly, Jessica takes Batman’s hand. Together, they summon their wills and Jessica manages to extinguish the Ring of Volthoom’s blast. Finally, Batman tells Lex they never needed him to save the day.

In fact, the Justice League held the Doom Patrol back for Batman, not Luthor. Sternly, Lex replies: “But you will.”1 Later, Batman advises Superman and Wonder Woman to recruit Lex Luthor. For two reasons: In order to keep him in check and investigate Lexcorp. Though Superman opposes revealing their secret identities. Eventually, Superman formally welcomes Lex Luthor into the Justice League. To end, he lays down some ground rules.

Super Power Explained: 5 Feats That Show Superman Has Infinite Super Strength

IN SUPER POWER EXPLAINED

SUPERMAN EXCEEDS A STELLAR LEVEL OF SUPER-STRENGTH

In 'Justice League' (2012) #6, Superman bullrushes Darkseid into a Boom Tube.

Since “Superman Reborn,” the New 52 Superman and the Rebirth Superman have been merged into one. In effect, it is the same Post-Crisis Superman. Moreover, the Rebirth and New 52 universes merged into a single DC Universe. Nevertheless, Superman’s Post-Crisis history has been preserved. In addition, the 10 years stolen by Doctor Manhattan have been restored.

Over the past decades, Superman’s strength level has fluctuated. Noticeably, John Byrne’s Superman decreased Superman’s strength level considerably. Since the “Death of Superman,” the Man of Steel has steadily increased in super strength. Normally, Superman can move or shatter planets. Also, he is strong enough to hold a miniature black hole in his hand. Therefore, the Man of Steel can exceed a Stellar Level of super strength.

However, since Post-Crisis, Big Blue has performed feats that displayed a potential for infinite strength. Let’s list five feats that show Superman’s infinite strength.

‘FINAL CRISIS: SUPERMAN BEYOND’ (2008) #1

In 'Superman Beyond' (2008) #1, Superman and Captain Marvel lift the Book of Limbo, a book with an infinite number of pages.
In ‘Superman Beyond’ (2008) #1, Superman and Captain Marvel lift the Book of Limbo, a book with an infinite number of pages. AP Photo/DC Comics.

In ‘Final Crisis: Superman Beyond’ (2008) #1, Superman and Captain Marvel/Shazam lift the Book of Limbo. Really, it is a book with an infinite number of pages. In “Superman, The Greatest Story,” I argue that it is feats that define Superman’s story. In ‘Final Crisis,’ Superman is not only the strongest story, he is also the strongest hero. Definitely, this feat takes the top spot on this list.

‘JUSTICE LEAGUE’ (2019) #25

In ‘Justice League’ (2019) #25, in a battle against the World Forger, Superman breaches the Sixth Dimension and shatters the Forger’s Multiverse creation with a punch. AP Photo/DC Comics.

In the conclusion of the “Sixth Dimension” storyline, Superman battles against the World Forger. Freed from his prison on Prime Earth, Superman sundips multiple times in yellow suns. Then, flying at high speeds through the cosmos, Superman reaches the speed of light. In an instant, he becomes a line and all time and space is perceptible to him. With a devastating punch, Superman shatters the World Forger’s 20 billion years old multiverse.

‘JLA/The Spectre Soul War’ (2003) #1

In 'JLA/Spectre: Soul War' (2003) #1, Superman and Wonder Woman lift Spectre.
In ‘JLA/Spectre: Soul War’ (2003) #1, Superman and Wonder Woman lift Spectre. AP Photo/DC Comics.

Superman and Wonder Woman are two of the strongest warriors in the DC Universe. In ‘JLA/Spectre: Soul War’ (2003) #1, the Spectre comes to ask the JLA for help to stop the Trans’ invasion. During the invasion, Spectre merges with the JLA. As the Spectre and JLA investigate, Spectre is knocked unconscious. In free fall, Superman and Wonder Woman lift Spectre.

Indeed, considering the free fall and that Spectre’s weight is eternity. Definitely, this feat requires infinite strength.

‘ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN’ (2006) #649

In 'Adventures of Superman' (2006) #649, Earth-One and Earth-Two Supermen clash over the death of Earth-Two Lois Lane.
In ‘Adventures of Superman’ (2006) #649, Earth-One and Earth-Two Supermen clash over the death of Earth-Two Lois Lane. AP Photo/DC Comics.

To sum, “Infinite Crisis” is largely a question about who is the true Superman. Indeed, Earth-One Superman, Earth-Two Superman, Superboy and Superboy-Prime all contended for the title.

During the crisis, Earth-Two Superman successfully brought back Earth-Two with Alexander Luthor Jr’s help. And, when Earth-Two Lois Lane died, Earth-One Superman journeyed to Earth-Two to help. However, Earth-Two Superman blamed Kal-El for her death.

Dangerously, a clash followed between the two Supermen that threatened time and space. The Men of Steel’s punches threatened reality and opened a rift of chronal energy. Then, each Superman was transported to the other one’s Earth, reliving its history.

Eventually, Wonder Woman had to come to Earth-Two to restrain Earth-Two Superman. To consider, opening a chronal rift requires time travel. Definitely, this feat requires infinite strength.

‘ACTION COMICS’ (2001) #782

In 'Action Comics' (2001) #782, a sundipped Superman transports Warworld and Imperiex to an instant after the Big Bang.
In ‘Action Comics’ (2001) #782, a sundipped Superman transports Warworld and Imperiex to an instant after the Big Bang. AP Photo/DC Comics.

Well put, Superman asks Brainiac-13 “What’s infinity times infinity?” In ‘Action Comics’ (2001) #782, a cosmic Superman transports B-13’s Warworld an instant after the Big Bang.

During “Our Worlds At War,” Imperiex sought to hollow the universe. When Imperiex’s armor was cracked, Brainiac-13 absorbed its energies into Warworld. To that end, Brainiac sought to rule the universe.

Via a temporal Boom Tube, the sundipped Superman transported Warworld to the beginning of time. Though, the temporal Boom Tube was created by Steel’s Entropy Aegis. Nonetheless, Superman’s feat still involved time travel.

Indeed, it is debatable whether the feat required an infinite amount of super strength. At the same time, pushing Warworld through a temporal Boom Tube definitely required an incalculable amount of super-strength.
