CUSTOMER REVIEWS AND SCORES

Critically, Static Shock #1 is the event that skyrocketed Static into superstardom in the DC Universe. Normally, a teenage genius, Virgil Hawkins becomes a black superhero.

In the issue, Static has to face public distrust, protect his family and work undercover at S.T.A.R. Labs. Indeed, Static’s first issue starts with a bang with his first battle against Sunspot. And let’s not forget the rise of the Slate Gang that has put the black superhero on notice.

The comic is excellent for your collection. You will definitely love the friendly art and the joyful expressions on the characters. This is the graphic novel to own in order to build your Comixology collection. Moreover, the issue is collected in Static Shock Vol. 1: Supercharged (The New 52).

This product has 13 global ratings with an average customer review rating of 4.7 out of 5.

One customer review said: “The main writer resigned after one issue- so I’m not sure what’s going on there- maybe some creative differences with others on the book team. The art is great; nice detail but a bit “cartoony” at times. I wonder if any comic artist alive can do a good job with African-american people- I haven’t seen any yet.

This one is worth jumping aboard with, althought the long-term direction is uncertain with the changing creative team. Static is a idea that merits a wider audience.”

There was one negative review. The negative review commented on the price: “I really didn’t want to pay this much finally found #1 #5 #7 #8 on midtown comic website for $2.39 I got 7 and 8 good quality and way cheaper.”

Overall, this comic was great.
