Iron Man and Vision sense a foreboding.

Suddenly, Moondragon senses a star’s detonation light years away. She exclaims: “It has begun!” Suddenly, Adam Warlock arrives at Avengers Mansion. He tells the Avengers of Thanos plan: Resurrected, Thanos in order to win Death’s love, has gathered the six Infinity Gems and plans to detonate the stars. Moments later, Starcore, the orbital tracking station, announces news of an alien armada on track to Earth. The Avengers realize it is Thanos and depart on Moondragon’s Space Cruiser.

THE AVENGERS FIGHT THANOS AND HIS ALIEN ARMADA

The Avengers seem outmatched by Thanos’ alien armada. Thor and Iron Man head into space in order to stop the invasion. Meanwhile, the rest of the Avengers land on a replica of Sanctuary II in order to take the fight to Thanos.

However, Adam Warlock and Captain Marvel head to the original Sanctuary II on the other side of the sun. Thanos begins to detonate the sun.

STRUCK BY THANOS, ADAM WARLOCK’S FUTURE SELF STEALS HIS SOUL INTO THE SOUL GEM TO PREVENT THE BIRTH OF MAGUS

Adam Warlock and Captain Marvel arrive on Sanctuary II. Captain Marvel speeds through the window and is momentarily stunned. Mad at the deaths of Gamora (his former love) and Pip the Troll, Adam Warlock punches Thanos. Thanos responds with two attacks that leave Adam for dead. In the meantime, the other Avengers arrive. As Thor battles Thanos, Iron Man destroys Thanos’ synthetic Soul Gem. Thanos teleports away.

Moments within death, Adam Warlock’s future self appears before him. He means to steal his soul in order to prevent the birth of Adam’s future evil self, Magus. Tortured, and having lost love, Adam seeks peace. He accepts his future self’s offer. Adam’s future self uses the Soul Gem to send Adam Warlock’s soul into Soul World. There, he is reunited with Gamora and Pip.

Super Power: The Six Infinity Gems Are Multiversal Artifacts Created By The Celestials

SUPER POWER

Comics Explained

IN MARVEL MULTIVERSE

THE INFINITY GEMS ARE ARTIFACTS FROM MARVEL’S PRIMORDIAL UNIVERSE

In ‘Marvel Premiere’ (1972) #2, Adam Warlock is featured with the Soul Gem for the first time

Today we talk about six primordial super powers. I speak of the Infinity Gems.

The Infinity Gems first appeared in Marvel continuity in ‘Marvel Premiere’ (1972) #2, which featured the first appearance of the Soul Gem and the power of Adam Warlock.

In ‘Infinity Wars’ (2018) #6, it is revealed that the Infinity Gems are primordial artifacts that were originally created by the Celestials in the Prime Universe. It is found that the Infinity Gems actually do not have power in that dimension, and are delivered from that dimension to the Marvel Multiverse.

THE INFINITY GAUNTLET

In 'Infinity Gauntlet' (1991) #1, Thanos finds out about the six Infinity Gems from Death's realm.

In ‘Infinity Gauntlet’ (1991) #1, upon his resurrection, Thanos gazed at the six Infinity Gems from the Infinity Well in Death’s Realm. He realized the Gems’ true nature and set out to acquire them. They were a remnant from the universe’s creation that in solitude, originally split in six fragments with different primordial super powers: soul, mind, power, time, reality, space.

Read on!

The Infinity Gems were kept by the In-Betweener and by members of the Elders of the Universe who, on the contrary, were not aware of the true essence of their Gems. The mad Titan Thanos then gathered these gems into the Infinity Gauntlet. He took the Soul Gem from the In-Betweener, the Power Gem from the Champion, the Time Gem from the Gardener, the Reality Gem from the Collector, the Space Gem from the Runner, and the Mind Gem from the Grandmaster. During the Infinity Gauntlet saga, Thanos used the Infinity Gauntlet to remove from existence half of the population of the universe in order to gain Death‘s love. In the end, Thanos was defeated when Adam Warlock was able to gain possession of the Infinity Gauntlet.

As the battle goes on, Hulk stops the fight and tells Drax to put down the boulder he was about to smash Hulk with. He says he gives up and that Drax the Destroyer has won the fight.

The two talk things over. As Drax talks about music he finds a closed shop with musical instruments behind the window. Seeing how badly Drax wants them, Hulk breaks the window. Drax retrieves a saxophone. The two engage in friendly banter but soon reach a disagreement when Hulk in trying to be on friendly terms with Drax taps him on the back. Drax responds with a punch!

IN ‘INFINITY’, THANOS PREPARES THE ALIEN INVASION OF EARTH

In ‘Infinity’ (2013) #1, Thanos and his army set out to conquer Earth in an alien invasion. The Builders, the universe’s oldest race, have destroyed planets they deem unfit for life. They have destroyed Earth-13761 and are headed for Earth-616. Learning of the threat from Captain Universe, the Avengers leave Earth to face the Builders. In the Avengers’ absence, Thanos and his army send Outrider in order to gather intel about Earth.

Outrider searches through Avengers Tower and Jean Grey’s School for Higher Learning. Outrider arrives at Attilan and attempts to read through Black Bolt’s memory only to wake him up. Badly beaten, it notifies Thanos that the Avengers have left Earth and is given the reward-death. Thanos and his army prepare to invade Earth.

THANOS’ TRUE QUEST

In ‘Infinity’ (2013) #2, Thanos’ army invades Earth though there is some resistance. During the alien invasion, the Black Order confronts the Illuminati for intel about the Infinity Gems.

The Illuminati are a secret organization on Earth that shared information and strategy to solve crises. Their members were: Mister Fantastic, Iron Man, Black Panther, Professor X, Doctor Strange, Black Bolt and Namor.

Black Panther managed to force Black Dwarf to withdraw, while Doctor Strange was embarked in a mental fight against Ebony Maw. Beast and the X-Men fought Corvus Glaive and SupergiantProxima Midnight confronted Namor in the ruins of an Atlantis where its inhabitants were annihilated by an attack from Wakanda, part of a conflict caused by Namor’s attack on Wakanda during the conflict between the Avengers and the X-Men. However, the Black Order left their different locations as soon as they discovered the Illuminati didn’t have the Infinity Gems.

Infinity (Event), Marvel Database

Black Bolt was visited by Corvus Glaive to demand a tribute to Thanos: the head of Inhuman youngsters between ages 16 and 22 or face the annihilation of Earth’s inhabitants. He is given one day to decide.

Black Bolt used the Inhuman Codex to discover that the tribute was a cover for Thanos’ true quest for the alien invasion: to kill his Inhuman descendant son whose identity and location are unknown to him.

In ‘Infinity’ (2013) #3, Thanos faces Black Bolt in combat. During the battle, the Inhuman city of Attilan is destroyed. However, Black Bolt managed to activate the Terrigen Mists which are mutagenic vapors arising from the Terrigen Crystals that cause Terrigenesis by activating latent genes in Inhuman descendants and develop super powers.

As the heroes continued the fight against Thanos’ alien invasion, the Illuminati set out to locate Thanos’ son, Thane at multiple locations on Earth. In ‘Infinity (2013) #5’ Thane undergoes Terrigenesis. Ebony Maw locates him in the Inhuman city of Orollan in Greenland. Ebony Maw poses as an ally and offers Thane a containment armor then imprisons him in a containment field. He alerts Thanos.

They head for Earth. The Avengers soon locate Thanos and the Black Order in the Inhuman city of Orollan. In ‘Infinity’ (2014) #6, the battle begins.
