DURING THE ’60s, KHERUBIM SAUL BAXTER STOPS THE FIRST DAEMONITE ATTACK SINCE 1906
In ‘Team One: WildC.A.T.s’ (1995) #1, is the first Daemonite sighting since the 1900s. In the 1960s, Saul Baxter is a secretive defense contractor and mastermind. Secretly, he is a Kherubim and has the ability to generate blasts of mental energy. Recently, he is developing the first ballistic submarine. Suddenly, a soldier storms into his office and tells him that the submarine is under attack. Quickly, he runs out of his office and into the base. There, he finds the attacker killing several soldiers. Strangely, he recognizes the man as the first Daemonite he has encountered since 1906.
To hide his mental energy blast, Saul fires a blowtorch at the Daemonite reducing it to a corpse. When he has stopped the attack, Saul realizes that more Daemonites may arise. Soon, he meets with a fellow Kherubim. In fact, she works as a covert operative for the U.S. military as Lucy Blaise. Secretively, Saul wants to enlist a team of Kherubim heroes: Lucy’s lover and the anti-Communist John Colt, Mason and the superhero Mister Majestic. To this end, their objective is to fight Daemonites under the cover of Unidentified Life Forms (U.L.F.).

IN TEAM ONE’S FIRST MISSION, THE MISTER MAJESTIC/HELSPONT RIVALRY BEGINS
In Team One’s first mission, the heroes are unprepared and undertrained. Decisively, John Colt leads Team One into battle. In a slugfest, Mister Majestic engages Helspont. In fact, it appears they are evenly matched. However, the heroes are soon overwhelmed by the sheer number of Daemonites. Nevertheless, King manages to reach the nuclear missile which has been set for launch.
Since he is untrained, he has no idea how to deactivate it. Begrudingly, Regiment goes to find the silo leaving King without cover. Seemingly swarmed by Daemonites, John orders Mister Majestic to blast them to cover King. Though John is in the way, Majestic blasts the Daemonites. At the end, the lights go out and the outcome is uncertain.
