In New Mutants Annual (1988) #4, the High Evolutionary’s Purifiers attack mutants deemed a threat to human genetic purity. When Magma is attacked, the New Mutants and the Hellfire Club storm the villain’s base in Wyoming.
SPEEDBALL, DD AND SPIDEY STOP THE HIGH EVOLUTIONARY’S DEVICE IN NEW YORK
In Amazing Spider-Man Annual (1988) #22, is the first appearance of Speedball in Marvel continuity. Named Robbie Baldwin, he overhears the High Evolutionary and his plan to put New York City to sleep with his device. With the help of Spider-Man and Daredevil, they stop the Purifiers and destroy the device atop the Empire State Building.
IN THE FINALE, AN AD-HOC AVENGERS TEAM VS THE HIGH EVOLUTIONARY
In Avengers Annual (1988) #17, an Avengers reservist team of Jocasta, the Captain, Falcon, Hercules, Hulk, Beast and Yellowjacket must stop High Evolutionary’s genetic bomb. In one final battle, the Avengers hyper-evolve Hercules to match High Evolutionary with the villain’s equipment. Apparently, both combatants are destroyed.
