In the Marvel multiverse, the Avengers are the premiere superhero-team. In battles to defend Earth and the universe against villains, tyrants, and conquerors, two Avengers challenge the Fantastic Four for the title of Marvel’s First Family. Indeed, the battle for the title is for Ant-Man and the Wasp.
Let’s list five reasons why Ant-Man in his alternate versions is Marvel’s Earth’s Scientist Supreme and five reasons why Wasp is Marvel’s Savior.
10. WASP CHANGED SECRET WARS AND STOPPED MAGNETO (COMIC)
Importantly, Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars (1984-1985) was the first company-wide crossover in comics about a god-like being who brings Marvel heroes and villains to battle on Battleworld for their greatest wish. Moreover, Jim Shooter’s original crossover is set to be adapted to the cinema in 2026. In Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars (1984) #4, Wasp stopped from using her in his plan to conquer mankind. Later, her sacrifice changes the course of the war as She-Hulk and the heroes mobilize to storm Doombase. This year, Secret Wars (1984-1985) is winner of Cover of the Week.
9. ANT-MAN STOPPED HULK IN THE FIRST FF-AVENGERS CROSSOVER (COMIC)
Indeed, Ant-Man and Wasp may challenge Marvel’s First Family. In the classic Silver Age story, Fantastic Four (1964) #26, is the Avengers and Fantastic Four first crossover. In the comic, the teams fight the Hulk in New York, but the Wasp’s sting distract while Ant-Man drives Hulk away with ants. Certainly, this is Hulk’s first true rival in the period.
8. WASP TRAINED SCOTT LANG IN THE ANT-MAN MOVIE (FILM)
In the Phase Two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Ant-Man (2016) is the last entry. When ex-convict Scott Lang struggles to find employment and pay child support, Hank Pym and Hope Van Dyne recruit him on a mission. Incredibly, Wasp trains him to use ants and become Ant-Man. One of the most well-received movies in the MCU.

7. IN ENDGAME, ANT-MAN PLANS TO TIME-TRAVEL (FILM)
Comically, Avengers: Endgame (2019) is a heist movie. In fact, Scott Lang is freed from the Quantum Realm five years after the Thanos Snap. When he meets the surviving Avengers, he proposes a plan to time travel with the Quantum Realm and find the Infinity Stones to change the past.

6. IN EARTH’S MIGHTIEST HEROES, YELLOWJACKET STOPPED THE KREE BOMB (TV)
Unfortunately, Hank Pym’s central hubris is his mental instability. With his experiments with the Pym Particles, AI and Ultron, Pym nearly dies and becomes Yellowjacket. In Episode (2012) #24 of Season 2 of Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, the Avengers face a Kree invasion with a womhole that threatens to destroy the sun. Comically, Yellowjacket helps stop the invasion on Earth by shrinking a bomb at HydroBase.
5. WASP NEGOTIATED KANG’S ARMY SURRENDER (TV)
In Episode (2011) #19, the Avengers attempt to defeat the Kang Invasion. When the situation is critical, Wasp uses Kang’s love, Ravonna, to negotiate a ceasefire. Later, Kang is detained.
4. WASP RESCUED CIVILIANS WITH THE UNITY DIVISION (COMICS)
Certainly, Wasp has proven that she unites the Marvel Family. To celebrate the joining of X-Men and Avengers after AvX, Wasp named the “Unity” at Avengers Mansion. In Avengers Assemble (2013) #20, Wasp deduces the Terrigen Bombs are attacking the Microverse. With the help of Scarlet Witch, she rescues civilians from the Microverse.
3. GIANT-MAN EXILES GREITHOTH AND SKIRN THROUGH A PORTAL (COMICS)
Heroically, in the event Fear Itself (2011-2012), Hank Pym leads the Avengers Academy. In Avengers Academy (2011) #16, Giant-Man and the heroes exile Greithoth and Skirn empowered by Cul through a portal. However, the heroes must fight the villain without help from Thor and the Asgardians who have retreated to Asgard.

2. SCOTT BECOMES GIANT-MAN TO PROTECT PYM’S LAB (FILM)
Perhaps, Giant-Man is Ant-Man’s most powerful form yet. In Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018), Hank Pym, Ant-Man and Wasp collaborate to free Janet Van Dyne from the Quantum Realm. In the third act, Scott Lang finally becomes Giant-Man to protect Pym’s lab from Burch’s henchmen. At 100 feet tall, Giant-Man can lift buildings and punch monsters!
1. HOPE SAVES SCOTT AND THE MULTIVERSE AGAINST KANG (FILM)
Really, Wasp may win the Battle of the Sexes. In Quantumania (2023), the Pym and Lang families must strengthen their relationships. When the Pym and Van Dyne are transported to the Quantum Realm by Kang, Scott must save them. In the denouement, Ant-Man fights Kang to save his family. But it is Hope who saves them by sending the variant through the portal created by the Power Core.
