GODZILLA POSSESSES NUCLEAR POWER

During the Bronze Age, Marvel Comics introduced fans in the U.S.A. to Godzilla. In a 24-issue mini-series, Godzilla emerged from the Pacific and trekked across America leaving a trail of destruction. In fact, Godzilla met opposition from S.H.I.E.L.D., the FF, Avengers, the Champions of L.A. and even supervillains and monsters.

Recently, an alternate version of the monster and the Monsterverse clashed with the Justice League. Namely, Godzilla’s hide is invulnerable and his atomic ray suggest he is an arc reactor like the sun.

Incredibly, Godzilla possesses nuclear power at a Stellar-Level with the potential to destroy planets and civilizations in the Marvel Universe. Definitely, such power is monster-like and explains why the King of Monsters rules the Titans. If the Monster’s power level is astronomical, let’s examine his durability.

In other words, how tough is Godzilla, when on land and at sea?

GODZILLA IS STRONGER THAN MARVEL EARTH

In Godzilla (1977–1979), the Titan arises from the 1950s nuclear tests in the Pacific. When the monster emerges from the ocean, it attacks Washington State. Next, it clashes with the Champions of L.A. Incredibly, Hercules manages to topple it but the monster continues its rampage.

Along the way, Godzilla fights S.H.I.E.L.D., Red Ronin, the dragon-like Batragon and other villains. In fact, Ant-Man even succeeds in shrinking the monster and the FF use Doctor Doom’s time machine to send it to the Age of Dinosaurs.

ON LAND

In Godzilla (1978) #8, Godzilla rampages through San Diego military base. When the monster threatens the nuclear base, Dum Dum Dogan initiates the giant Red Ronin robot. With immense strength, weapons, durability and flight piloted by young Japanese Robert Takiguchi.

Though the two beings are evenly matched, Robert protects Godzilla from S.H.I.E.L.D. WMDs. And we know Godzilla’s armor can withstand nuclear artillery and impact forces. Incredibly, Red Ronin manages to tie Godzilla with large cables. At the end of the battle, Godzilla acknowledges him as a peer.

Considering Red Ronin can withstand high altitude fall and impact forces, his Durability is at least Continent-Level. Since Red Ronin can match Godzilla, the monster is at least Continent-Level in Durability on land.

IN WATER

In Justice League vs Godzilla vs Kong (2024), Godzilla and the Monsterverse invadethe DC Universe. Unfortunately, Godzilla’s atomic ray injures Superman as he protects Billy Batson. But the monster can also withstand the pressures of the ocean and geothermal vents. In rare underwater battles, Godzilla battles Kraken, Giddorah and the Justice League.

Powerfully, the monster survives Kraken’s tentacld trap. Considering Void Sentry is at least Planetary-Level and Kraken is a 100 times bigger, matches Godzilla in size, it is at least a 100 times stronger in its trap. Definitely, we agree with our Facebook Group poll, a feat requiring a Stellar-Level of Durability at sea.
