In “Avengers Disassembled,” the Scarlet Witch‘s Chaos Magic is destroying the Avengers. In ‘Avengers’ (2004) #500, Avengers Mansion is attacked by a living-dead Jack of Hearts. To begin, Ant-Man, Hawkeye, She-Hulk, Wasp and Captain Britain are enjoying breakfast at Avengers Mansion. Particularly, they are talking about Viper who is Madame Hydra and how attractive she is. Then, an alert is triggered by the presence of an undead Jack of Hearts.
Quickly, Ant-Man mounts a flying insect and goes to investigate. There, he recognizes the fallen Avenger. Suddenly, Jack says “I’m sorry” and detonates an explosion. Tragically, Ant-Man dies and part of Avengers Mansion is destroyed. Nearly, the other Avengers including Jarvis are buried in the rubble. Meanwhile, Tony Stark is giving a speech at the United Nations. Apparently, he is drunk and threatens to kill the Latverian delegate. Yellowjacket intervenes and Tony retreats to another room.

THE AVENGERS ARE IN CRISIS
In ‘Avengers’ (2004) #501, the Avengers are in crisis. At Avengers Mansion, She-Hulk has grown in size and is on a rampage. On the scene, Iron Man flies in and puts down She-Hulk. In the aftermath, Captain Britain and Wasp are in critical condition at Beth-Israel hospital, She-Hulk is in S.H.I.E.L.D. custody, Ant-Man’s charred remains are in a morgue and Vision’s destroyed body is sent to Stark Industries. At Beth-Israel hospital, Captain America, Hawkeye, Iron Man and Falcon discuss the events.
Angrily, Hawkeye criticizes the Avengers for their lack of proaction. In addition, the Avengers discuss the fact that Code White may actually be a sleeper Ultron program in Vision. When Iron Man mentions the attacks may all be related, he tells of the incident at the United Nations. Loudly, Yellowjacket storms in accusing Iron Man of resuming his drunken past. Nevertheless, Tony protests he hasn’t had a drink in a long time. In fact, Cap believes him. Finally, Iron Man departs and the others assemble with the rest of the Avengers that responded to the Code White alert.

As the battle rages, Nick Fury questions the Kree’s need for a ground offensive. Indeed, their superior technology should afford them an advantage. Heroically, Hawkeye sacrifices himself to destroy the Kree mothership. Soon, the alien army flees. Examination of the wreckage shows it is not made of metal.
